Patent number: 6421675Abstract: The present invention provides for a method of updatig an internet search engine database with the results of a user's selection of specific web page listings from the general web page listing provided to the user as a result of his initial keyword search entry. By updating the database with the selections of many different users, the database can be updated to prioritize those web listings that have been selected the most with respect to a given keyword, and thereby presenting first the most popular web page listings in a subsequent search using the same keyword search entry.Type: GrantFiled: July 15, 1998Date of Patent: July 16, 2002Assignee: S. Publication number: 20080154887Abstract: A method (50) of providing an Internet search results list in response to an Internet keywords search request is disclosed. The method (50) starts by receiving (60) a list of keywords, a list of web pages associated with the keywords in the list of keywords, and quality factors associated with keyword-web page combinations. The quality factors are determined from user activities in response to a site specific search request. An Internet keywords search request is next received (62). A listing of web pages associated with keywords in the Internet keywords search request is then retrieved (64). The web pages in the listing are ranked (66) based upon associated quality factors to produce a ranked listing. Finally, the ranked listing is provided (68) in response to the Internet keywords search request. A method (10) is disclosed of recording an association between web pages of a web site and keywords.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 28, 2007Publication date: June 26, 2008Applicant: S.L.I. Patent number: 6151335Abstract: A digital subscriber line (DSL) communication system that utilizes the high frequency band of a standard telephone line does not require the use of a plain old telephone service (POTS) splitter in the resident's home, which provided isolation between the POTS frequency band (0 to 4 kHz) and the DSL frequency band. A digital subscriber line modem utilizes either constant envelope modulation or quadrature amplitude modulation for outputting DSL signals upstream to a central office. When a telephone in the resident's home is detected as being off-hook, then the constant envelope modulation is used by the DSL modem in order to lessen the intermodulation product distortion that results in audible noise heard by a user of the telephone. When the telephone is on-hook, then another type of modulation, such as QAM, is used to maximize the upstream data rate capability in the DSL frequency band, since any noise generated by the QAM is not a problem due to the non-use of the POTS frequency band.Type: GrantFiled: December 2, 1997Date of Patent: November 21, 2000Assignee: Conexant Systems, Inc.Inventors: Kenneth D. Patent number: 5230065Abstract: A data processing system is disclosed in which a plurality of central processing units have access to all the system resources, i.e., have a peer relationship. During initialization of the data processing system, all the system resources are allocated to the individual central processing units according to a preselected distribution procedure, the identification of available resources thereafter being stored in the files of the individual central processing units. During the operation of the data processing system, the resources can be reallocated by a predetermined procedure. The central processing units entering such a relationship are required to include apparatus and/or software procedures that prevent access to system resources not assigned thereto. A mail box procedure, using locations in the main memory unit permit communication between the central processing units and are used in the dynamic allocation of resources.Type: GrantFiled: June 25, 1990Date of Patent: July 20, 1993Assignee: Bull HN Information Systems Inc.Inventors: John L. Patent number: 6985508Abstract: An injection seeded modular gas discharge laser system capable of producing high quality pulsed laser beams at pulse rates of about 4,000 Hz or greater and at pulse energies of about 5 mJ or greater. Two separate discharge chambers are provided, one of which is a part of a master oscillator producing a very narrow band seed beam which is amplified in the second discharge chamber. The chambers can be controlled separately permitting separate optimization of wavelength parameters in the master oscillator and optimization of pulse energy parameters in the amplifying chamber. A preferred embodiment in an ArF excimer laser system configured as a MOPA and specifically designed for use as a light source for integrated circuit lithography. In the preferred MOPA embodiment, each chamber comprises a single tangential fan providing sufficient gas flow to permit operation at pulse rates of 4000 Hz or greater by clearing debris from the discharge region in less time than the approximately 0.25 milliseconds between pulses.Type: GrantFiled: July 24, 2003Date of Patent: January 10, 2006Assignee: Cymer, Inc.Inventors: David S.
