  • Patent number: 7298260
Abstract: A tesla coil security system for proactively and effectively deterring unauthorized individuals from entering an opening in a non-lethal manner. The tesla coil security system includes a tesla coil, a length of wire electrically connected to the tesla coil for surrounding an opening to be protected, and a plurality of charge dissipaters electrically extending from the wire for facilitating the discharge of electrical charge thereby creating an electrical visual effect for deterring entry through the opening. A control unit is in communication with the tesla coil for controlling the operation of the tesla coil and a sensor is in communication with the control unit for determining the presence of an individual, whereby detection by the sensor of the presence of an individual causes the tesla coil to be activated.

Abstract: A portable electronic device for detecting an electromagnetic pulse generated by a tesla coil, and selectively a pulse from natural lightning. The device has a detection circuit for electromagnetic pulses, operating to detect an observed electromagnetic pulse having a frequency at least within a range of about 50 kilohertz (kHz) to about 300 megahertz (MHz). The detection circuit generate an output signal corresponding to the observed electromagnetic pulse. A microcontroller analyzes the output signal from the detection circuit against a tesla profile that identifies a detected electromagnetic pulse as a tesla coil pulse when the observed electromagnetic pulse has a frequency within the range of about 50 kHz to about 300 MHz with a pulse duration of at least 0.50 seconds. The microcontroller then generates an indication that the detected electromagnetic pulse is that of a tesla coil, and generates a tesla coil alert, typically flashing of an LED.

Abstract: Utility Model Patent for a hybrid turbine that consists in a Tesla turbine improved with the replacement partial or total of its smooth discs by innovative discs called ‘Pelton type discs (2)’. The parts of the Tesla turbine are: stator, shaft, inlet, exhaust outlet (4) and smooth discs (2). The disc (2) with an innovative format, object of this patent, owns the characteristics of the Pelton Wheel, once it owns cavities (1) that are hit by the working fluid. The ‘Pelton type’ discs (2) have as purpose to increase the torque provided by the shaft of the turbine and it is an improvement of the Tesla turbine that makes it useful for many applications and improve its efficiency in applications which demands bigger torque that furnished by the original Tesla turbine. The proportion between ‘Pelton type’ discs (2) and smooth discs, used in the turbine, defines the increase of torque.

Abstract: A new type of engine module is described based on the Tesla turbine. Our Tesla Twin Turbines Combustion Engine Module comprises of two Tesla turbines welded together, forming a combustion chamber in between. The combustion chamber includes an air-fuel mixture inlet and an ignition inlet. Fuel-air mixture is injected through the air-fuel inlet into the combustion chamber which is ignited by an ignition device. The high temperature combustion gas flow in opposite directions across 2 stacks of evenly spaced smooth parallel discs, transferring energy into rotating the discs via the mechanism of boundary layer laminar flow interaction. The pair of rotating stacks of discs rotates a pair of rods. The gas exits through exhaust holes or openings adjacent to the pair of rods. The rotating rods can be used to drive generators or do useful works.

  • Publication number: 20210363997
Abstract: An integrated flow source is a limiting factor in numerous microfluidic applications. In addition to precise gradients and controlling molecular transports, a built-in source of stable and accurate flow can enable novel shear stress modulations for long-term cell culturing studies. The Tesla turbine, when used as a pump on the microfluidic regime, produces stable and accurate fluid gradients by utilizing laminar flow between its rotating discs Utilizing a stereolithography based 3D printer, a tesla pump (Ø10 cm) and associated housing capable of driving a microfluidic gradient is provided having a printed rotor surface topology of the pump in order to enhance pumping of biological fluids like blood at elevated viscosities. The surface topology is tuned via 3D pixilation, and this modulation completely recovered the pressure loss between pumping water at 1 cP versus glycerol solution at 3 cP. As a result, increased fluid viscosities, and even Non-Newtonian viscosities, can be used.
