Abstract: Techniques for proactively detecting configuration inconsistencies may include: receiving notification regarding an occurrence of a trigger event in a system, wherein the trigger event is one of a plurality of defined trigger events, and wherein the plurality of defined trigger events include one or more defined time periods; and responsive to receiving the notification, performing first processing including: capturing configuration information describing a current configuration of the system; and performing proactive consistency validation processing of the configuration information that detects inconsistencies between dependent entities of the current configuration. The proactive consistency validation processing may detect inconsistencies between dependent entities of the same type or different types. Metadata may identify dependencies between entities that may exist in a configuration. Responsive to detecting an inconsistency, a suitable action may be taken and/or user notified.

Abstract: A method, computer program product, and computing system for receiving a message library update, wherein the message library update includes a plurality of error codes associated with a plurality of error/advisory messages. A specific error code concerning a storage system is compared to the plurality of error codes included within the message library update to identify a specific error/advisory message associated with the specific error code. The specific error/advisory message is provided to a user of the storage system.

Abstract: Machine-readable media, methods, apparatus and system are described. In some embodiments, a host platform may receive a first USB command from a client platform, wherein the first USB command notifies the host platform that a USB device is plugged into the client platform. The host platform may further create a virtual USB device as a virtualization of the USB device in response to the first USB command, and may establish a USB device driver in response to the creation of the virtual USB device. The USB device driver may control the USB device in the client platform.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for capturing a complete baseline image of the operating environment of a host computer system on an external storage device and for generating incremental backups of the operating environment as changes to the operating environment are identified to create an aggregate baseline image of the operating environment of the host computer system. The external storage device can be disconnected from the host computer system and connected to a remote host where the aggregate baseline image can be used launch a remote host environment on a virtual machine running on the remote host. The remote host environment allows a user to make changes to the remote host environment and the changes can be written back to external storage device as a delta image that is included in the aggregate baseline image. The aggregate baseline image can then be synchronized with the native host.
