  • Patent number: 4445170
Abstract: Separate memory management units are described for use with a central processing unit to separately control expanding stack and data memory portions within a single logical memory segment. The stack and data portions are prevented from expanding into each other by a break register which contains an address between the two memory portions and is updated as the stack and data memory portions expand and contract. The stack memory management unit only is enabled when a portion of the memory is addressed on one side of the break value while the data memory management unit only is utilized when the address is on the other side of the break value.

  • Patent number: 5688411
Abstract: A removing unit for removing coating from the edge of a substrate has a vertical unit body housing a pair of pipes connected to a solvent reservoir and having respective solvent supply parts. The unit body has a head disposed in an upper end portion thereof. The head has a horizontal slot which opens at opposite ends thereof and at one side thereof for receiving an edge of a substrate. Solvent is supplied into the slot, drawn therealong and discharged from an end of the slot, all in a contained manner. A edge of a substrate is horizontally inserted into the slot so as to be immersed in the solvent contained in the slot, and the unit body is moved along the substrate edge so that the solvent cleans undesired coating from the edge.

  • Patent number: 5435880
Abstract: A plasma processing apparatus for processing a workpiece such as a semiconductor wafer in a plasma includes a downstream- or coaxial-type chamber for housing the workpiece. A first sheet-like electrode is mounted on an outer circumferential surface of the chamber and electrically connected to a high-frequency power supply, and a second sheet-like electrode is mounted on the outer circumferential surface of the chamber and connected to ground. The first and second sheet-like electrodes are spaced in confronting relationship from each other circumferentially of the chamber across or along the axis thereof. The first and second sheet-like electrodes have respective axial or circumferential arrays of successive teeth, such as rectangular comb teeth, extending circumferentially or axially of the chamber and respective axial or circumferential arrays of successive recesses which complementarily receive the teeth, respectively, in an interdigitating pattern.

  • Patent number: 5436974
Abstract: The invention disclosed here is a method of encoding serial numbers indicating "confidentiality" or "proprietary information" on printed documents. A group of marks in the form of small-sized dots or equivalent markings are repetitively printed across the face of the document. The placement and location of the markings defines a readable binary serial number. Intermixing the markings with the printed matter on the document makes it difficult or impossible to remove the serial number created by the markings, and they will remain on the document after repeated photocopies of it are made.
