Abstract: The present invention is a distributed and autonomous digital data security agent that secures stored data and the storage device itself, from remote manipulation. The present system is an “agent” in that it acts independently in the accomplishment of its objects and is distributed in that its functionality is resides on firmware resident at disparate hardware locations. The agent is autonomous in that it cannot be remotely compromised. The system includes server having a dedicated Private link with a Chip Administrator, and a Data Link between a first-Chip, a second: Chip of said security agent. The first-Chip is resident and operable to control Write/Read calls and data transfers between the server and the second: Chips of the data storage. The Chip Administrator, first-Chip and second-Chip in combination with their associated Firmwares provide said distributed and autonomous data security agent.

  • Publication number: 20170221114
Abstract: Disclosed is a system enabling the participation of a third-party computer program in a shopping activity between a vendor and consumer. The system is a software application that resides in part on a consumer smart device and in part on a publisher's system server. The present system enables the consumer smart device to transform a published advertising image from a hardcopy (magazine) page to a digital OCR fingerprint representative of the hardcopy page, and to sent the OCR fingerprint to the publisher's system server. The OCR fingerprint is compared against a database of other similarly generated OCR fingerprints of hardcopy pages from the magazine, including the advertising page of interest, for a match. Upon finding a suitable match, the vendor and item information for the items for sale on the advertising page are displayed on the smart device, enabling the consumer to browse the information and implement a purchase.

  • Publication number: 20190141509
Abstract: Disclosed is a system that adapts a personally portable “smart” communications device to enhance a user's personal security by continuously monitoring an alert function of the device from a remote location during a user initiated “session.” The user device is in communications with a remote server, which monitors the alert function and provides: accurate preservation of session data; monitoring of user device ambient conditions; dispatch of emergency services; and notification of third parties. Server software (host application) on the remote server manages communications with user devices. The server collects, processes and stores data; dispenses data according to a rule set, and manages multiple user sessions. User software manages the initiation and conduct of a session and communications with the server. The user and server software in combination provide for establishing, maintaining operations of the system, and databases accessible by the remote server for storage/archiving of system data.

  • Patent number: 10726142
Abstract: An intermediary data handler is used in a Secured Data Storage Subsystem (SDSS), to provide a host electrical computer system with security of certain data stored in memory of the computer system's static data storage device. The intermediary data handler is functionally disposed between the operating system (OS) and data storage device of the host computer. The data handler has Processor, Memory, and User Interface circuits, and resident software adapted to generate mocked-up response data in reply to an unauthorized read/write communication from the OS, the mock data response being automatically formatted to have a content and data-structure format acceptable by the host OS, while isolating and controlling the original communication from the OS. The SDSS includes host software adapted to integrate operation and function of the intermediary data handler with the host computer system to accomplish the security of data stored on the storage device.

  • Patent number: 7281266
Abstract: A software application installable on a personal computer protects the computer's primary data files from being accessed by malicious code (e.g., viruses, worms and trojans) imported from an external data source, such as the Internet. A master file serves as the image from which all other software code and functions are derived. Activation of the master image file establishes a secondary operating environment (isolation bubble) in which a secondary operating system including a browser and any other desired applications are installed and run. Access permissions for communications between the computer at large (primary operating system) and the secondary operating system to prevent any access to the files on the primary operating system from any operations originating from the secondary operation system. Activation of the secondary operating system is required before any connection to the Internet (or other external data source) is enabled.

  • Patent number: 7401490
Abstract: A cold-formed, raised-center axle for a heavy-duty vehicle includes a central tube having a pair of ends, a pair of spindles attached to the central tube ends, and a wall thickness of from about 0.500 to about 0.625 inches. A hump is formed in the center portion of the tube and includes compressive residual stresses in its bottom portion when the axle is in an in-service position. A method for forming the raised-center axle includes the steps of providing a substantially straight axle, inserting the axle into a press, over-forming a hump in the axle in the direction such that camber is induced in the axle, and forming the axle in a second direction, thereby substantially removing the camber and replacing a detrimental residual stress state in the humped portion of the axle with a beneficial residual stress state.

  • Publication number: 20200122967
Abstract: A monitoring system includes one or more detection devices, a communication device, and an analytics system. The one or more detection devices generate, at a conveyance system, one or more data streams describing the ride of the conveyance system, where the data streams include at least one of vibration data and audio data. The communication device transmits sensor data based on the one or more data streams. The analytics system receives the sensor data from the communication device and, based on the sensor data, determines a ride quality of the conveyance system.
