  • Patent number: 4492945
Abstract: A safety socket with easy fuse replacement device, specifically it covers a socket body and a cylinder used to house a number of protection fuses, the cylinder may be inserted into the annular guidance as provided on the socket body and used to shroud the cylinder whose center abound in insertion holes, characterized in that the center of the insertion hole is provided with a push-on switch such that it may be pressed to conduction once the socket is inserted into the insertion hole, in the event that a fuse is burnt and broken due to overloading, by giving a grip-turn to the cylinder the conserved fuse will replace the function of the broken fuse, and in this manner time and labor are saved, in the meantime, dangers due to replacement of a fuse and a fuse in use are eliminated.

  • Patent number: 4490995
Abstract: A knitted base fabric comprises stitches which are arranged in courses and are formed each by a stitch-forming base yarn. A plurality of tufts are held on the base fabric by at least part of said stitches. Each of said stitches of at least one of said courses contains at least one filling yarn, which is held by said stitch and has an extensibility which is, at most, equal to the extensibility of the base yarn which forms said stitch. The total thread thickness of the filling yarns which are held by any one of said stitches exceeds a value which is slightly below the total thread thickness of the base yarn forming said stitch. Said filling yarns stabilize the fabric virtually in a predetermined useful width.

  • Patent number: 4491289
Abstract: A locking device for clamping or sheaving appendices aboard a satellite during the launching phase provides for temporary locking thereof which both limits the required holding forces and authorizes multiplication of the clamping or sheaving points for each appendix while being insensitive to temperature variations. It comprises a stop catch jointed to a foot rigidly secured to the satellite structure, to ensure immobilization of the element to be temporarily locked thereby, an elbow lever hinged to the stop catch and connected to a sheaving cable, and an elastic link exerting upon the lever a force to balance the holding force exerted by the sheaving cable. The locking device remains in the locked position as long as the shearing device for cutting off the cable has not been operated.

  • Patent number: 4489492
Abstract: A nibbling tool for sheet material e.g. metal or plastics material and attachment to a power tool e.g. air or electric drill or air motor is disclosed. The structure of the tool permits a positive and easy change to be effected in respect of the cutting direction e.g. from the axial direction of the tool (for planar sheet) to a lateral direction for corrugated or contoured sheet. This change is effected by releasing a locking member externally of the housing and does not entail stripping down the tool. Likewise provision is made for a simple adjustment to optimize the stroke of the punch relative to the die.

  • Patent number: 4478200
Abstract: An electronic ignition system of the capacitor-discharge type for an internal combustion engine includes a magneto generator having substantially a single generating coil with no center tap, and includes a change-over circuit which changes over the supply of power generated from the generating coil from the capacitor to an auxiliary unit when the capacitor is charged to a given voltage by the half-waves of one polarity of the alternating electromotive force generated in the generating coil. The opposite-polarity half-waves of the alternating electromotive force are supplied to the auxiliary unit even while the capacitor is being charged.

  • Patent number: 4473360
Abstract: A homokinetic joint of the type wherein torque is transmitted between two heads by means of balls engaged in tracks formed in said heads, said tracks being in the form of grooves. The axes of both grooves in each of the ball rolling tracks are disposed so as to make an angle with one another both in the radial plane containing the center of the respective ball and the plane perpendicular thereto, containing said center. The angle of the grooves is higher in the radial direction than in the direction perpendicular thereto. The invention is applied to homokinetic joints, whether sliding or not, particularly adapted to automobile vehicles.

  • Patent number: 4470644
Abstract: A magnetic suspension device for inertial wheel or rotary body holds a rotor coaxially with respect to a stator while being mechanically free. On the stator side it comprises an inner continuous ferromagnetic crown and an outer discrete ferromagnetic crown formed with a plurality of diametrically opposite sectors provided with coils. Between said crowns there is interposed an axially magnetized crown carried on the rotor and clamped between two annular flanges. Said coils provide for radial centering of the rotor whereas the magnetized crown provides for axial centering thereof. The association of the crowns and the sectors ensures minimum path for the induction lines. The magnetic suspension device is intended for space or terrestrial applications especially for satellites, telecommunications, vacuum pumps, printing cylinders, machine-tools, optical scanning systems and the like.

  • Patent number: 4465249
Abstract: A lateral acceleration control method for a missile permits short response times to commands even of great amplitude. It comprises the association of an aerodynamic control system having large lateral acceleration capability, called PAF, with a force control system close to the center of gravity, having a moderate lateral acceleration capability, but with very short response time, called PIF. The overall response to a command includes the usual response of the aerodynamic automatic pilot to which there is added the response from the force control system, such that in the presence of a constant order, after a delay equal to the response time of the PAF, the PIF is entirely available for a new action.
