  • Patent number: 7093193
Abstract: A system and method is provided for generating dynamically changing HTML documents at a relatively quick rate in response to a client request. The system and method provide separation of the constant text and the code embedded in the HTML documents. An executable component is employed that includes all the basic functionality typically embedded in script code of a plurality of HTML documents. The dynamically generated text is broken down into string template pages. Each string template page can be authored as a single file and includes all the information necessary to complete a request. A string template page includes one or more strings and each string is made up of a text constant and can include one or more argument variables. Each string template page is provided with identifiers for pages, text constants and variable portions of strings. The pages are read, parsed and processed into a data structure into memory by the executable component for efficient use at runtime.

  • Patent number: 7088698
Abstract: The present invention relates to network communication systems for managing client/server connections in a wireless environment. In accordance with the invention, a mobile communication unit (i.e., client), deploys keepalive packets at selected times in order to reset a keepidle timer of a server (e.g., host computer). By periodically resetting the keepidle timer a current connection between the mobile communication unit and server can be maintained as long as desired even when the mobile communication unit is in a power suspend mode. When in a power suspend mode, the mobile communication unit can briefly awake long enough to activate its transmitter and send a keepalive packet to the server to maintain the current connection. In this manner, the mobile communication unit can obtain the power savings of being in primarily a power suspend mode, but still prevent the current connection from timing out.

  • Patent number: 7089254
Abstract: The present invention relates to a system and methodology to facilitate database processing in accordance with a plurality of various applications. In one aspect, a large database of objects is processed, wherein the objects can be represented as points in a vector space, and two or more objects are deemed ‘close’ if a Euclidean distance between the points is small. This can apply for substantially any type of object, provided a suitable distance measure can be defined. In another aspect, a ‘test’ object having a vector x, is processed to determine if there exists an object y in the database such that the distance between x and y falls below a threshold t. If several objects in the database satisfy this criteria, a list of objects can be returned, together with their corresponding distances. If no objects were to satisfy the criterion, an indication of this condition can also be provided, but in addition, the condition or information relating to the condition can be provided.

Abstract: An information retrieval system, including a learning and real-time classification methodology, is provided in accordance with the present invention. The system includes a hierarchal analysis component that receives a query and processes probabilities associated with N categories, each category having one or more topics, wherein N is an integer. An interactive component drives clarification dialog that is derived from the query and the probabilities associated with the N categories and the one or more topics. The clarification dialog, driven by a rule-based policy, a decision-theoretic analysis considering the costs of dialog to focus the results versus the costs of browsing larger lists, or combinations of rules and decision-theoretic analysis is employed when valuable to determine at least one category of the N categories to facilitate retrieval of at least one of the topics.

  • Patent number: 7084988
Abstract: A system and method for monitoring the creation of semiconductor features with multi-slope profiles by employing scatterometry is provided. The system includes a wafer partitioned into one or more portions and one or more light sources, each light source directing light to one or more devices etched on a wafer, the devices having multi-sloped profiles. Reflected light is collected and converted into data by a measuring system. The data is indicative of the etching at the one or more portions of the wafer. The measuring system provides the data to a process analyzer that determines whether adjustments to etching components are necessary by comparing the data to stored etch parameter values. The system also includes etching components. At least one etch component corresponds to a portion of the wafer and performs the etching thereof. The process analyzer selectively controls the etch components to promote consistent etching of multi-slope profiles/features to compensate for wafer to wafer variations.

  • Patent number: 7082461
Abstract: A technique to simplify L2CAP channel creation/configuration for a node is presented. The method enables a node to determine how involved it is in the L2CAP channel connection creation and management process. There are three levels of participation that the node may specify. The three levels are no involvement at all, minimal involvement, and total involvement. In no involvement, the channel is dropped if a remote node does not accept all node specified parameters. In minimal involvement, the channel is dropped if a remote node does not accept all node specified parameters and the node is notified when the connection has been disconnected by a remote disconnect or HCI link loss. In the total involvement level, the node is fully involved in the channel creation/configuration. The node provides a function pointer that is called to confirm or reject parameters. If a parameter is unacceptable, the connection is disconnected.

  • Patent number: 7082373
Abstract: Dynamic power controller apparatus, systems and methods are provided which utilize system and user data to control power to components. The present invention employs dynamically controlled idle timeout values which are based, in part, on the historical use of the component. It can also employ user settings, event occurrences and available resources of a system to dynamically control the power to one of the system's components or a remote component. In an instance of the present invention related to hard disk power control, it is employed in an operating system's kernel where disk idleness is monitored. When the hard disk's idle time meets a dynamically computed power control idle timeout, the disk driver is commanded to power down the device.

  • Patent number: 7079975
Abstract: A system for monitoring and controlling the deposition of thin films employed in semiconductor fabrication is provided. The system includes one or more acoustic and/or ultrasonic wave sources, each source directing waves onto one or more thin films deposited on a wafer. Waves reflected from the thin film is collected by a monitoring system, which processes the collected waves. Waves passing through the thin film may similarly be collected by the monitoring system, which processes the collected waves. The collected waves are indicative of the presence of impurities and/or defects in the deposited thin film. The monitoring system analyzes and provides the collected wave data to a processor, which determines whether adjustments to thin film deposition parameters are needed. The system also includes a plurality of thin film deposition devices associated with depositing thin films on the wafer. The processor selectively controls thin film deposition parameters and devices to facilitate regulating deposition.

  • Patent number: 7080330
Abstract: A system and methodology are disclosed for monitoring and controlling a semiconductor fabrication process. One or more structures formed on a wafer matriculating through the process facilitate concurrent measurement of critical dimensions and overlay via scatterometry or a scanning electron microscope (SEM). The concurrent measurements mitigate fabrication inefficiencies, thereby reducing time and real estate required for the fabrication process. The measurements can be utilized to generate feedback and/or feed-forward data to selectively control one or more fabrication components and/or operating parameters associated therewith to achieve desired critical dimensions and to mitigate overlay error.
