  • Patent number: 4798189
Abstract: A fuel injection pump includes a piston movable by fluid pressure to vary the setting of a cam ring of the apparatus in order to alter the timing of fuel delivery. A piston member is provided for the purpose of setting the piston in a particular position when the associated engine is cold and acceleration is required. The piston member is angularly movable and port means is provided in the piston member and its cylinder so that in one angular position the opposite ends of the piston member are subject to the same fluid pressure and in other angular positions one end of the cylinder contains fluid at a higher pressure to cause the piston member to move from the one end of the cylinder to set the piston in the desired position.

  • Patent number: 4795370
Abstract: An electrical plug connector for co-axial leads is disclosed comprising an inner contact with spring tongues to retain a core wire therebetween and an outer contact for connection to the sheath conductor. The latter may be brought into contact with claws situated at end of the outer contact from which the lead extends, by bending the claws radially inwards, this being accomplished by tightening a screw element situated on an outer sleeve of insulating material, while two coaxial insulating members within the outer contact are displaced axially with respect to each other so that thrust arms situated on one insulating member and co-operating with an inwardly tapering cam surface may be thrust against the spring tongues to allow these to grip fast the inner lead wire.

  • Patent number: 4790368
Abstract: A wide thin metal sheet having a smooth surface may be manufactured directly from molten metal. A lower end of a nozzle installed vertically at the bottom of a molten metal vessel is held in contact with an inclined plate made of a refractory material, molten metal is discharged in a fan-shape from a notch formed in the peripheral wall of the nozzle end, the discharged molten metal being rendered into a constant shape laminar flow having a uniform flow rate distribution on the inclined surface as it flows down the inclined plate. The constant shape laminar flow is supplied to a molten metal pool between a pair of rollers of internally water-cooled type without any disturbance on the surface and in the inside. The metal solidified in the neighborhood of a portion of the gap between the two rollers is discharged from an open-at-the-bottom space defined between the two rollers.

  • Patent number: 4787816
Abstract: A rotary circulating pump for heating systems comprises a pump housing with suction and delivery sides separated from one another by an impeller and having a calming or damping chamber situated on the suction side with an integral separator chamber connected thereto for removal of air from the fluid passing through the pump. A flow divider splits the fluid entering into the pump housing into two part flows before they reach the calming chamber. To enhance the separation of air bubbles, the flow divider is so constructed that it imparts to the part flows a rotational motion which is superimposed over their translatory displacement, and deflects the part flows radially as well as axially away from the suction aperture of the pump impeller.
