  • Patent number: 4637398
Abstract: A mastectomy garment includes an underbra, a breast prosthesis, and an outerbra. The underbra is of lightweight garment foundation material having a cup for the normal breast and a flat band portion for the removed breast, enabling a firm, flat-fitting garment over the remaining chest surface of the removed breast. The prosthesis or false breast itself is removably adhered to the outer surface of the flat, binding portion. The outerbra such as a conventional off-the-shelf brassiere is placed over the underbra and the adhering prosthesis, the underbra and outerbra are then secured together to prevent relative movement between them.

  • Patent number: 4629102
Abstract: An improved garment-engaging grip of a plastic ship-on hanger in which a cooperating finger and wall engage an interposed garment therebetween, and the finger is movable into a clearance provided behind it to allow for the bulk of the garment, to thereby relieve, by virtue of this adjustment in position of the finger, any stress in the plastic at the juncture of the finger connection to the hanger and, thus, the tendency of rupture at said juncture.

  • Patent number: 4625727
Abstract: The free ends of two tubular tissue members to be anastomosed are each pulled over the outside of a respective ring joined by an integral frame which holds the rings rigidly a short distance apart and sewn to the respective rings and to each other across the gap formed by the frame. When the tissue members and apparatus have been completely sewn about their circumference, the frame is cut away, and the sutures are pulled taut so that the edges of the tubular tissue members are inverted and drawn into apposition between the rings. The adjacent suture ends are then tied together with proper tension to complete the anastomosis.

The finger additionally has a gripping projection in the form of a bump, which significantly increases the gripping pressure on the garment.

  • Patent number: 4622039
Abstract: According to the present invention, a dry cleaning washer and a dryer are arranged in a closed cycle system so that the effluent solvent vapor from the washer is delivered to an accumulator chamber generally simultaneously with the delivery from the dryer of effluent hot air. The hot air super heats the solvent vapor increasing its volitization and the heated and highly volatile solvent vapors are then passed to a condenser which includes the feed coils for supplying clean air to the dryer. In passing through the condenser, the super heated solvent vapor, instantly liquifies giving off its heat to the cool air, thus preheating the clean air prior to its entry into the dryer. The liquified solvent is returned to the washer, or to a storage reservoir.
