Abstract: A sloped floor trailer which incorporates drain ports which are opened during trailer loading and which are sealed during trailer transportation, in order to retain the liquid. In addition to the foregoing features, I provide apparatus for heating the trailer side walls with the truck tractor exhaust to prevent freezing during inclement weather.
Abstract: An electrical adapter assembly for enabling use of a fluorescent lamp in connection with an incandescent lighting fixture comprises a hollow and cylindrical housing, an Edison-type base extending from one end of the housing and a cover enclosing the end of the housing opposing the base. A toroidal ballast is located within the housing and is capable of receiving portions of the fluorescent lamp within hollow central portions of the ballast to enhance spacial efficiency. The base is either affixed to the housing, or alternatively, is rotatingly associated with the housing to provide a security feature.
Abstract: There is described a cloth for draining and drying paper webs, comprising a fabric formed by warp threads and weft threads.Said cloth further comprises a top layer of interlaced lengthwise strips and weft threads, at least one upper weft thread part passing underneath one or a plurality of lengthwise strips, being connected to the fabric by at least one warp thread thereof, which has been passed between said upper weft thread part and the lengthwise strip or strips.
Abstract: Protective eyewear, to be worn while engaging in sporting activities, such as racquetball, squash, etc., includes frame portions each having an upper segment and a lower segment defining a viewing aperture. The upper segment is upwardly inclined from horizontal by a predetermined amount to form an apex portion which outwardly extends from the facial region of the wearer and the lower segment is downwardly inclined from horizontal by a predetermined amount to form an apex portion which outwardly extends from the facial region. Filament members vertically extend across each viewing aperture. The filament members have a predetermined diameter and a predetermined spacing therebetween. In an alternate embodiment, the protective eyewear includes replaceable eyepieces.
Abstract: A system and method for slope stabilization applicable to a wide range of slopes comprised of a variety of soils. A layer of geosynthetic fabric is deployed upon the surface of the slope to be stabilized and is anchored to the stable earth region which underlies the potential slip zone of the slope. The system actively maintains the potential slip zone between the geofabric layer and the underlying stable earth region.
Abstract: A collapsible podium comprising a front panel, a rear panel, and a flat floor panel all in hinged relationship to each other essentially along respective adjacent edges. The floor panel has a rear portion and a front portion in hinged relationship to each other. Disposed along essentially the lower edge of the front panel is a lip projecting forwardly at essentially a right angle with said front panel and at an upward angle from a horizontal plane. The podium collapses and folds along the several hinged relationships, and can have releasable securement means which maintains the podium in a folded configuration.
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a shoe which comprises forming a foamed outsole in a mold cavity and cementing an insole to the formed outsole during molding. The mold is made of a silicone rubber and has a deeper cavity for forming the outsole and a shallow cavity for receiving an insole. An upper with multi-colors is fabricated by cementing differently colored plastic segments and a lining cloth by high frequency sealing.
Abstract: A novel formation method is disclosed which is compatable for use in forming high antimony as well as, maintenance free (i.e., low antimony calcium, etc.) batteries. The method includes constant circulation of a cooling fluid around the batteries to be formed while the batteries are stepped through various charging cycles of different lengths and currents. The preferred method is a "one shot" method, thus eliminating the necessity of adding successive electrolyte solutions to the batteries. Unlike prior "one shot" formation techniques, however, formation times are relatively short while plate clearance characteristics and the completeness of formation are excellent.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a papermakers fabric having an upper layer comprised of a batt and an under layer comprised of a plurality of intermeshed monofilament spiral coils, retained by pintle means; the upper and lower layers being unified into a single fabric by application of adhesives to the interface between the batt layer and the under layer.
Abstract: A crab trap includes a trap portion and a pneumatic actuator and control apparatus with a predetermined length of flexible, hollow tubing connected therebetween. The trap portion includes at least one clam shell-shaped trap cover which is held in an open position by a pivoting latch. To release the trap cover from the open position, the user squeezes a bladder contained within the pneumatic actuator and control apparatus, thereby inflating a bladder in the latch. As the latch bladder inflates, the latch pivots upwards, ultimately releasing the trap cover which then snaps to the closed position. The flexible tube is used to raise and lower the trap portion as well as to provide a pneumatic conduit between the actuator and the trap portion.
