Abstract: A non-lethal temporarily incapacitating formulation having a new solvent system that has reduced blow back longer hang time when used as an aerosol spray. The solvent and formulation are non-toxic, non-hazardous, non-flammable, highly stable, environmentally safe and able to withstand extreme operating temperatures. The solvent system is a mixture of propylene glycerol dicaprylate/caprate and glycerol tris (2-ethylhexanoate) and is suitable for use for a wide range of automotive, household and industrial applications.
Abstract: An intraocular lens is provided that includes an optic body having anterior and posterior walls, a chamber, and optically transmissive primary and secondary fluids, and method for making and using the same. The secondary fluid is substantially immiscible with the primary fluid and has a different density and a different refractive index than the primary fluid. The primary fluid is present in a sufficient amount that orienting optical body optical axis horizontally for far vision positions the optical axis through the primary fluid, thereby immersing the anterior and posterior optical centers in the primary fluid. The secondary fluid is contained in the optic body in a sufficient amount that orienting the optical axis over a range of effective downward angles relative to the horizontal for near vision positions the optical axis to extend through the primary fluid and the secondary fluid, thus changing the focus of the intraocular lens.
Abstract: A sliding miter saw is provided, the saw including a base device, a motor, a saw blade, a bracket for a saw unit and a ram slidably received in a guiding groove provided along a diametrical direction of a turntable. A rear end portion of the ram is connected to a lower portion of a supporting member. By exploiting the ram sliding in the guiding groove, the supporting member may be made thick and rigid. A front end portion of the ram always lies under the saw blade and the ram moves backward synchronously with the saw unit so that the invention is able to spare operating space and storage space.
Abstract: The invention concerns a porous paper machine clothing (1) for dewatering a paper web in a paper machine, having a yarn layer made up of at least one ply (2) of longitudinal yarns (3) and at least one ply (4) of transverse yarns (5, 6, 7) that cross the longitudinal yarns (3), which is characterized in that the longitudinal and transverse yarns (3, 5, 6, 7) are connected positively to one another at crossing points (8). The invention further concerns a method for manufacturing a porous paper machine clothing of this kind.
Abstract: A method for assigning a pulse profile, in particular a pulse profile of a scintillation detector having at least two scintillation materials with different decay characteristics, to one of a plurality of pulse types with differing decay times, encompasses the method steps of: acquiring an output pulse profile and converting the pulse profile into an electrical signal whose amplitude-time profile represents the pulse profile of the output pulse; transforming the amplitude-time profile into the frequency space in order to obtain an amplitude-frequency profile representing the output pulse; normalizing the amplitude-frequency profile in order to obtain a normalized amplitude-frequency profile; comparing the normalized amplitude-frequency profile with a predetermined reference profile; and assigning the output pulse profile to one of the pulse types on the basis of the result of the comparison.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a router tool for edging the peripheral edge of eyeglass lenses. The tool comprises a longitudinally extending body rotatable on the axis thereof. A first blade extends axially and radially from the body, and has a first cutting portion for shaping an edge of a lens to a first configuration. A second blade is provided that is axially spaced from the first blade. The second blade extends axially and radially from the body, and has a second cutting portion for shaping an edge of a lens to a second configuration different than the first configuration. The present invention also relates to an edger having the disclosed router tool, and a method for shaping the edge of eyeglass lenses.
Abstract: A lens blocking device is disclosed that includes a frame, a light source mounted on the frame, a carriage having a first end and a second end mounted on the frame for sliding movement between first and second positions, a first mirror mounted on the carriage first end and a lens block holder mounted on the carriage second end and shiftable between third and fourth positions with respect to the carriage, a stage disposed between the light source and the carriage, and including an opening, for supporting an object, an at least partially translucent screen generating a display image operably connected to the support frame, at least one second mirror arranged to reflect an image of an object on the stage from the first mirror, when the carriage is in the first position, onto the screen, and an actuator operably connected to the carriage.

Abstract: A method for manufacturing a bevel gear member, comprises the steps of providing a bevel gear blank having a gearhead, forming gear teeth on the gearhead of the bevel gear blank by simultaneously cutting gear tooth top land, gear tooth side profile and a bottom land to form an unfinished bevel gear member using a face hobbing process, and machining at least one selected surface of the unfinished bevel gear member using the top lands of said gear teeth as a datum for centering the unfinished bevel gear member, thus forming a finished product. The method is applicable for manufacturing the bevel gear member both with shaft axially extending from the gearhead and without the shaft. The bevel gear members manufactured with this method exhibit reduced runout and require simpler, less expensive tooling.

Abstract: In an information transmitting device, a variable capacitor which is charged to have a predetermined voltage discharges through a predetermined resistor. Until the voltage becomes lower than a predetermined threshold voltage, the number of AC signals having a predetermined frequency is counted. Accordingly, first continuous amount information of a binary code corresponding to a writing pressure is obtained and is converted to a Gray code, which is regarded as second continuous amount information. A resonant circuit is opened or shorted in accordance with ‘0’ or ‘1’ in the second continuous amount information, so as to transmit the second continuous amount information.
Abstract: An input system for a computer includes a first input device, such as a mouse or a tablet, and a second input device differing from the first input device. The first input device specifies a position on a display screen, which is connected to a computer for executing an application program and for displaying a processing object area of the application program on the display screen. An instruction set instructs a change in a display state of the processing object area on the display screen in response to an operation of the second input device. The first input device is operated with the operator's favored hand, while the second input device is operated with the operator's non-favored hand. Therefore, both hands are effectively used to improve operation efficiency.
Abstract: A position pointing device includes a resonant circuit, a resonance-characteristic control circuit for controlling characteristics of the resonant circuit in accordance with pointing-device information at timing synchronized with at least part of an electromagnetic wave that is intermittently transmitted from a tablet and for returning the pointing-device information to the tablet, a clock oscillator circuit for generating a clock signal for driving the resonance-characteristic control circuit, and clock starting means for stopping an operation of the clock oscillator circuit when a start condition is set and for starting the operation of the clock oscillator circuit when the resonant circuit generates a signal specified by the start condition. The position pointing device further includes start-condition setting means for setting the start condition in the clock starting means at timing in accordance with an operation of the resonance-characteristic control circuit.
Abstract: A multifunction tool that allows a user to remove hinge pins and adjust hinges during the installation and removal of hinged doors. In the preferred embodiment, the tool has a hinge pin bit and an anvil extending perpendicularly from opposite sides of the first end of the tool. The second end of the tool includes a slot extending along the tool's centerline. In an alternate embodiment, the tool incorporates an anvil extending from each side of the tool, and a hinge pin bit extending from each side of the tool. The hinge pin bits have different sizes so that the tool can be used on door hinges with different size hinge pins.
