  • Patent number: 4327610
Abstract: An open end ratchet wrench has a head portion which includes a slot into which a plurality of cantilever spring segments project. The ends of the cantilever spring segments engage and turn the flat surfaces of a nut when the wrench is turned in a tightening direction. When the wrench is turned in the opposite direction, the cantilever springs flex to override the corners of the nut and then spring back to engage adjacent flat surfaces of the nut.

  • Patent number: 4289004
Abstract: A coil spring manufacturing machine which is controlled by a micro-computer is described. Driving source of the coil spring manufacturing machine is a single motor. The power is divided into two independently controllable operation transmitting systems by a power dividing means. The one operation transmitting system transmits rotation to a mandrel assembly for winding a coil around a mandrel. The other operation transmitting system transmits a pitch movement to the mandrel assembly. Machining tools for the formation of coil spring legs are positioned around the mandrel assembly.

  • Patent number: 4252129
Abstract: In a device for measuring motion of living body organs, an essential part which defines the oscillation frequency of the oscillator circuit of the device for measuring same comprises an electro-mechanical oscillator of a quartz resonator and impedance elements as coils or capacitors. The motion of organs on a living body surface or in a living body causes impedance changes in an impedance element and therefore, the detector is capable of detecting and measuring living body organ motion through a change in frequency.

  • Patent number: 4196953
Abstract: Amateur photographers who print and develop their own photographs often set up a temporary darkroom in a bathroom. This invention, entitled "darkroom module" is to be placed in front of an open door of a room, such as a bathroom, to facilitate the use of the room as a darkroom by providing:a light seal enabling the bathroom to be light-tighta working area which permits the permanent mounting of photographic equipment such as an enlarger, timer, color analyzer, etc.storage areaa light-proof air inlet in which a ventilating fan may be installed, if required, for adequate ventilationelectrical outlets for photographic equipment. When the darkroom is not required, the module is to be moved to another location. Since much of the equipment may be mounted permanently and the other equipment may be stored in the module, the setting-up time for conversion of the bathroom to a temporary darkroom is minimized.

  • Patent number: 4140064
Abstract: This invention, entitled "dual position table top support" permits a table top to be supported in a horizontal working position or in a vertical out-of-the way storing position. The support is such that it is to be installed in an area bounded by three adjacent walls without having to fasten it physically, i.e. by means of screws, nails, rivets, adhesive, to any wall. It is intended for use in locations where a free-standing support or a support physically fastened to a wall is impractical. It is particularly suited for installation over a bathtub to provide a utility table suitable for hobbyists such as amature photographers who use their bathroom as a temporary darkroom.

  • Patent number: 4115778
Abstract: A miniature antenna which is rugged, extremely light-weight and which is especially adapted for reception across the entire FM band comprising an omnidirectional half-wave dipole having feed structure comprised of curved overlapping dipole element points connected to a solid state amplifier having staggered tuned input and output circuits. The input to the amplifier is maintained essentially balanced to preserve the omnidirectional pattern of the dipole. The physical location of the solid state amplifier is such that it is directly connected to the feed point of the dipole eliminating transmission line losses. The coaxial cable is employed in a diplexed manner for connecting the DC power supply to the solid state amplifier and for connecting the amplified output signal to an impedance converter which is to provide proper impedance match for the antenna input signals of an FM tuner/receiver.

  • Patent number: 4112434
Abstract: Pulse motors rotating at periods corresponding to physical rhythm, rhythm of sentiment and rhythm of intellect are provided and discs having a pin eccentrically extending are coupled, respectively, with output axes of pulse motors so as to convert rotation movement into reciprocation movement through T-shaped piston rods. Plungers having ball point pens are respectively provided on the T-shaped piston rods. Data put in by digital switches are stored and calculated by the guide number to determine rotation angle of the pulse motors to set the ball point pens at the starting position. At the first recording area for the first date of a month arriving below the ball point pen, the pulse motors are initiated in their rotation from the starting position within a proper period thereof and a coil is energized so that the ball point pen will come in contact with the recording paper for drawing up the biorhythm chart.

  • Patent number: 4103167
Abstract: An ultraviolet liquid purification system includes a purification chamber having banks of ultraviolet lamps distributed therein for applying germicidal ultraviolet radiation to the liquid flowing through in said chamber. Ultraviolet photocell detectors are located in said chamber to detect the level of ultraviolet radiation transmitted through the quartz jacket housing the ultraviolet lamps and through the liquid being purified. Indicator means produce an alarm signal when the total ultraviolet radiation transmitted through the liquid drops below a preselected level. In addition, a light conducting fiber is provided for each ultraviolet lamp having its input endface located at the ultraviolet lamp and its output endface at a display panel whereby identification of a particular ultraviolet lamp that has failed may be easily detected. Photocell detector means are provided to detect the light output at the output endface of the light conductor fiber and to produce an alarm signal when said light output fails.

  • Patent number: 4103132
Abstract: A rotary switch includes a contact bar movable between a switch-open and a switch-closed position and a rotatable circular cam member controlling the movement of said contact bar. Spring means urges the contact bar into operative engagement with the surface of said cam member. The cam member is rotatably contained within a cavity in the switch housing, the cavity having a wall surface guiding the cam member during rotation of the latter. Biasing action of the spring means upon said contact bar urges the cam member against the wall surface of said cavity, with said wall surface serving as the only bearing surface for said cam member during rotation of the latter. A pin and slot coupling is also provided as an integral portion of the cam member and housing to limit rotary movement of said cam member between precise switch-open and switch-closed positions.
