Abstract: Clays and organoclays which are treated with resorcinol diphosphate and/or bisphenol diphosphate as general nanoparticle particle dispersants and replacements for quaternary amines. The two compounds are used as self activating and self dispersing nanoparticles by localizing themselves on the particle surface in a polymer matrix and acting as a nanoparticle dispersants in general, as well as resulting in exfoliation of clays. The exfoliate clays may be used in polymers in lieu of other organic treatments.

Abstract: Method for creating a three dimensional imaging system is disclosed. There is a first source of laser light and a second source of laser light having a wavelength different from the wavelength of the laser light of the first source. The laser light from the first and second sources are combined, and the combined laser light is transmitted to a scanner. The scanner further transmits the combined light to a surface to be imaged.

Abstract: Macromolecular contrast agents for magnetic resonance imaging are described. Biomolecules and their modified derivatives form stable complexes with paramagnetic ions thus increasing the molecular relaxivity of carriers. The synthesis of biomolecular based nanodevices for targeted delivery of MRI contrast agents are described. Nanoparticles (NP) have been constructed by self-assembling of chitosan (CHIT) as polycation and poly-gamma glutamic acids (PGA) as polyanion. NP's are capable of Gd-ion uptake forming a particle with suitable molecular relaxivity. Folic acid (FA) is linked to the NP's to produce NP-FA bioconjugates that can be used for targeted in vitro delivery to a human cancer cell line.

Abstract: A window operator handle securable to a casement window operating drive shaft is described. The handle is movable between an operating position to a folded position The handle has a body housing that has a cavity which includes an operating mechanism. The operating mechanism has an assembly body secured to the housing, a pivotal member positioned in a first section of the assembly body and a sliding member positioned in at least a second portion of the assembly body. The pivotal member is adapted to pivot from a first position to a second position as the handle is moved from a first position to a second position. The pivotal member is held in one position and the other position by the sliding member. The sliding member is retained in contact with the pivotal member by a spring means in said assembly body.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for the manipulation and management process of cryogen such that it controls both the fluid body movement as well as internal currents within the cryogen. Small volumes of a desired substance introduced into this managed cryogen for the production of frozen or solidified pellets or granules are better managed as to shape, size, deformation, frozen satellites, fines and agglomeration and overall desired quality. These benefits result from the dispersion of the gas produced, as well as the heat transferred, resulting from the introduction of the relatively hot substance to the cryogen. The fluid body movement assists in maintaining a distance between the individual solidifying pellets or granules thereby minimizing deformation as a result of physical contact. The output characteristics and desired quality of the pellets can be more effectively controlled and managed, as desired.
Abstract: A multi-point door latch adapted to fit in the stile of a door. The multi-point door latch includes a pair of hooks that are allowed to rotably pivot around a pair of eccentric cams. The eccentric cams are allowed to rotate inside of apertures located through the hubs of the hooks. The eccentric cams are geometrically centered inside the hubs of the hooks, and are kept in position via pins that are eccentrically orientated through cams. The multi-point door latch also includes an opening for receiving a turning mechanism. In addition, the turning mechanism is connected to a pair of toothed gear wheels that mesh with a toothed bar. The toothed bar is connected to a synchronizing link which simultaneously rotates the hooks to either an engaged or disengaged position. The multi-point door latch also includes stopping members, which prevent the hooks from rotating passed a certain point when the door latch is not engaged.
Abstract: The present invention is a Miniature Vein Enhancer that includes a Miniature Projection Head. The Miniature Projection Head may be operated in one of three modes, AFM, DBM, and RTM. The Miniature Projection Head of the present invention projects an image of the veins of a patient, which aids the practitioner in pinpointing a vein for an intravenous drip, blood test, and the like. The Miniature projection head may have a cavity for a power source or it may have a power source located in a body portion of the Miniature Vein Enhancer. The Miniature Vein Enhancer may be attached to one of several improved needle protectors, or the Miniature Vein Enhancer may be attached to a body similar to a flashlight for hand held use. The Miniature Vein Enhancer of the present invention may also be attached to a magnifying glass, a flat panel display, and the like.

Abstract: The present invention corrects sash sag in casement windows by implementing an adjustable hinge. The adjustable hinge includes a sash arm, a support arm, a retaining clip and an adjustment mechanism. The adjustment mechanism serves a twofold purpose. First, it allows one to adjust the hinge for sash sag, and it also secures the support arm to the track of the adjustment hinge. The adjustment mechanism includes a threaded support post and a threaded member. The threaded support post has a circumferential groove which is used to receive the arms of a retaining clip. The sash arm is mounted to the track of the adjustable hinge via a shoe block. The sash arm has a protrusion located on its bottom surface. The protrusion serves as a movement restrictor.
Abstract: The present invention includes a periscope, which has two camera objectives. The cameras are housed on top of the viewing monitor inside of a housing cell, so as to efficiently utilize the cabin space of the vehicle. One camera objective is a day camera bullet that may be used during day time or low light viewing. Another camera objective is the night board camera that may be used for night time viewing. Both cameras are electronically connected to a flat panel display, so that the optical picture may be displayed by others. In addition, the periscope of the present invention utilizes a heater sensor system that allows the day or night camera to be operated at or below temperatures of 32° Fahrenheit. The periscope of the present invention also implements an 18 mm image intensifier tube, which has the capability of detecting and amplifying low light level images during night time viewing and surveillance, under moonlight or starlight.
Abstract: The present invention relates to pedicle implements, in particular pedicle implants that involve screws. The present invention includes a handle, a pointy tip, a shaft, a cannula located therethrough and mini protrusions used to prevent toggling. The crux of the present invention is the ability of the user to create an accurate pilot hole via the pointy tip. In addition, the present invention allows the user the ability to insert a pedicle probe through the cannula out through the pointy tip. This allows the user to perform the cannulation portion of the procedure without the use of any thrombatic agents.

Abstract: A Comfort Seat and Commode Device that is adaptable for incorporation into a wheel chair, an ordinary arm chair or couch or bed, a hospital bed, or any other means of convalescence or permanent occupation by the disabled, is herein disclosed. The device's framework supports a seat portion that is capable of rotating to provide an opening through which a patient or disabled person may eliminate waste. The rotatable seat is located in-line vertically with a waste bin and cover that comprise the commode. An actuation means is provided, which, in response to a command by the user, simultaneously opens the waste bin cover, rotates the seat, and elevates the waste bin to permit use of the device. A means of providing squirting action of a cleaning solution to cleanse the user after elimination, as well as a drying system, may also be incorporated into the device.
