  • Patent number: 8296344
Abstract: Time delay and frequency offset calculation systems and related methods. System implementations include modules coupled together configured to calculate a time delay and a corresponding frequency offset of a second signal delayed in time relative to a first signal with the maximum value of a magnitude of a delay optimization function. Implementations of a method for calculating a time delay and frequency offset calculate the maximum value of the delay optimization function by generating the cross-correlation of one or more adjacent discrete Fourier transformed blocks corresponding to the first signal and second signal, respectively, of two or more discrete Fourier transformed blocks. The maximum value of the delay optimization function is then identified. Implementations of the method may compare the identified maximum value of the magnitude of the delay optimization function with a threshold to determine whether to continue processing for additional adjacent discrete Fourier transformed blocks.

  • Patent number: 8276844
Abstract: The invention relates to a system for landing UAV's. The system comprises a slingshot structure that includes arm based structure and an axis installed along the arm of the structure and enabling the arm to move around it. The system comprises a base connecting the axis to a platform at which the system is installable. The system also includes a controlled pulling and braking means that connects the arm of the structure and the platform upon which the system is installable and stretchable elastic installed in a stretched manner at a gap formed between two arms and set to connect with a landing UAV. At the landing phase, the controlled pulling and braking of the system essentially breaks the motion of the arm based structure that is propelled to revolve around the system's axis, and propels the structure to move around the axis.

  • Patent number: 8272980
Abstract: A jacket for an inflatable bladder such as an exercise ball. The jacket has a durable cover with an access section having an inner panel defining an access opening. Outer panels overlie the inner panel and have edges which extend across the opening and are provided with closures. In use, the outer panels may be separated at fasteners so a bladder may be removed or inserted through the access opening. The inner panel and the outer panels may be a woven material with their weave oriented to resist distortion when the bladder is inflated and to assist in securing the closure. The cover may be any suitable material such as a coated nylon providing durability.

  • Patent number: 8258401
Abstract: An electrical outlet cover assembly with an electrical outlet mounting box having a front edge that does not extend beyond a front surface of a wall. An extendable base is coupled with the electrical outlet mounting box and is slideable between collapsed and extended positions. When collapsed, a leading edge of the extendable base does not extend beyond the front surface of the wall. One or more guides resist decoupling of the extendable base and the electrical outlet mounting box. A lid is pivotably coupled with the extendable base, and one of the lid and the extendable base has a cord port along their respective edges. The lid has a front surface and is positionable between open and closed positions. The lid's front surface is substantially flush with the front surface of the wall when the base is collapsed and the lid is closed with respect to the extendable cover.

  • Patent number: 8253017
Abstract: An electrical box includes a back portion including a back wall and various side walls. Coupled to the back portion is an sliding ring portion including various side walls. The sliding ring portion is slidably mounted on the back portion such that there is an extended position with a first depth and a collapsed position with a second depth where the first depth is greater than the second depth. Prior to installation, the electrical box would be in the collapsed position in order to minimize the space occupied by the electrical box. When installed, the electrical box would be used in the extended position, such that the full depth of the electrical box can be used.
