Abstract: A drum with an adjustable depth is described. The drum includes a top head, a bottom head, and a shell. The shell is constructed such that the bottom head can be moved away from the top head, creating a drum with a different depth. The shell comprises an inner and outer shell. A handle can be turned, turning a drive sleeve in the interior of the drum. The drive sleeve translates the rotational motion into a vertical motion, changing the distance between the top and bottom heads. There may be an additional drive sleeve directly across from the initial drive sleeve, coupled via a drive shaft, to force the drum heads to move apart from each other in a substantially parallel manner. In a similar manner additional drive sleeves may be present to better keep the heads parallel.
Abstract: A system is disclosed for centrally managing core enterprise reference data associated with an enterprise. A centralized master repository includes the core enterprise reference data. An internal services framework coupled with the centralized master repository provides a business process toolkit for managing models. The business process toolkit includes a model library comprising data models and one or more modeling services for modeling the system. The internal services framework also provides internal services for managing the core enterprise reference data, one or more of the internal services having direct access to the core enterprise reference data for management purposes. An infrastructure services layer coupled with the centralized master repository provides bulk data transfers of core enterprise reference data according to one or more enterprise-level business workflows, the external operational systems permitted indirect access to the core enterprise reference data for operational purposes.
Abstract: The physical condition of adult male humans of all ages is improved by administering an effective amount of a D-aspartic acid compound. The administration of this compound increases their levels of testosterone, growth hormone, and/or insulin-like growth factor.
Abstract: Data analysis systems and related methods. An implementation of a method of determining a relationship between a variable of interest and one or more process variables represented by a corresponding plurality of tags may include accessing a data historian including historical data including a variable of interest and a plurality of tags. The method may include defining a plurality of bins, retrieving historical data corresponding with the plurality of bins using the data historian, filtering the historical data for each of the plurality of bins using one or more filters to produce filtered historical data, generating an output display using the filtered historical data for the variable of interest and each of the plurality of tags, and determining which of the plurality of tags correlate with the variable of interest using the output display. The output display may include an overlay CUSUM chart and a correlation plot.
Abstract: An electrical cord including a plug on a first end and at least one socket on a second end opposite the first end, a protective shutter assembly disposed within the at least one socket, the shutter assembly including a first and second shutter members positioned proximate the cover assembly and each of the first and second shutter members is at least partially aligned with separate cover openings in the cover assembly and being configured to move from a closed position to an open position in response to engaging at least one plug blade, a third shutter member positioned behind the first shutter member, a fourth shutter member positioned behind the second shutter member, and wherein the first and second shutter members pivot from the closed position to the open position and the third and fourth shutter members slide from the closed position to the open position.

Abstract: A method for increasing the bioabsorption of amino acids in a human or animal is disclosed. The method includes administering to the human or animal a pharmaceutically effective amount of an amino acid compound consisting essentially of a nitrate or nitrite of an amino acid selected from the group consisting of Arginine, Agmatine, Beta Alanine, Citrulline, Creatine, Glutamine, L-Histidine, Isoleucine, Leucine, Norvaline, Ornithine, and Valine.
Abstract: A method for increasing the vasodilative characteristics of amino acids in a human or animal is disclosed.
Abstract: The present invention provides anti-angiogenic variants of pigment epithelium derived factor (PEDF) comprising at least one altered phosphorylation site, polynucleotides encoding same and uses thereof. Particularly, the present invention provides variants of human PEDF comprising at least one amino acid substitution at serine residues (24), (114), and (227). The PEDF variants are potent anti-angiogenic factors, and thus useful in treating diseases or disorders associated with neovascularization.
Abstract: An authentication system authenticates remotely generated optical control signals. A remote optical emitter transmits an optical control signal from a remote location. A remote authentication device collocated with the remote optical emitter receives an authentication challenge signal and transmits a compatible authentication response signal. A control optical signal processor positioned at a first location receives the optical control signal from the remote optical emitter and generates a control output signal in response to detection of a valid optical control signal. An authentication device is coupled by a real time data communications link with the optical signal processor and with the remote optical emitter.
