Abstract: An adjustable size ankle brace that can be configured to be fitted on feet of differing sizes. The brace includes a base that wraps around the foot and ankle on the sides and rear thereof. The base has forward edges that come toward one another over the front superior foot and ankle region but do not meet. The edges are spaced apart by a gap that is closed by an adjustable closure assembly. Lateral and medial movable flaps are releasable fixed to the sides of the base by means of hook and loop type fastening material. The flaps carry lace eyelets. The eyelets are connected by a common lace. The flaps can be moved on the base to vary the circumference size encompassed by the base and accordingly the size of the brace.
Abstract: A sign holder has side members with ears that clamp onto a ceiling grid to support a sign. A flexible web joined to the side members allows the side walls to flex outwardly to allow the ears to snap over opposite sides of the ceiling grid. The side members are joined to a base connected to a channel member accommodating hooks connected to the sign. A gripping tool has jaws that engage the holder to install and remove the holder from the ceiling grid.
Abstract: An article holding apparatus having front, rear, side and bottom walls of uniform thickness forming a box. The box has a slanted open top surface to provide easy access to writing instruments and supplies, and personal items. A middle wall extends generally parallel to the front and rear walls dividing the article carrying space of the box into a forward and rear portions. A plurality of transverse upright walls extend between the middle wall and the front wall further dividing the forward portion of the article carrying space into a plurality of forward pockets. An inner wall is located in a longitudinal plane above the bottom wall. Upright inside walls are joined to the inner wall and bottom wall to define an inner compartment open to the front thereof. A vertically slidable sheet member having an outer reflective surface is mounted on the front of the box. The sheet member encloses the inner compartment.
Abstract: A printing press having an ink carrying roller and a roller having a blanket is equipped with a printed sheet material stripper having air dispenser for directing streams of air toward the roller having the blanket to assist in separating the sheet material from the blanket. A second air dispenser directs streams of air toward the ink carrying roller to set up and dry water in the ink on the ink carrying roller. Air flow regulators control the pressure of the air supplied to the air dispensers.
Abstract: A motor home has a slide-out room movable between extended and retracted positions with a slide-out assembly that supports the outside of the room. A longitudinal skid pad assembly supports the inside of the room on the floor of the motor home. Latches on the side walls of the motor home engage anchors secured to the floor of the motor homes to retain the room in the retracted position. Connectors having vertical and horizontal adjusting structures mount the room on the slide-out assembly to permit adjustment of the position of the room relative to the side wall and floor of the motor home.
Abstract: A knob for a stove or range that has a releasable lock assembly which prevents a switch or valve of the range from being turned ON. The lock assembly has a pin movable between a lock position and a release position with a linear to rotational movement mechanism mounted in a housing joined to the body of the knob.
Abstract: A trailer hitch has a ball coupler mounted on a trailer tongue positioner attached to a trailer tongue. The positioner has a head fastened to the coupler and side arms extended downwardly from the head. Each side arm has a pair of vertical rows of holes. Fasteners extended through selected holes connect the side arms to opposite sides of the trailer tongue to locate the trailer tongue in a position to maintain a downward load on the trailer hitch.
Abstract: An open top railroad car is equipped with end caps that allow air to flow into and out of the car chamber. A tarp extended between the end caps covers the open top of the car. A roll tube is secured to one longitudinal side of the tarp. A manually operated crank attached to the roll bar with a flexible cord is used by a yardperson to selectively roll the tarp to it's open and closed positions. A plurality of straps joined to the roll tube are connected to winches operable to hold the tarp in it's closed position.
Abstract: A visual indicia signal device to be worn by hunting dog in order that a hunter can maintain visual contact with the dog while engaging in hunting activity. The device also enables other hunters to identify the dog as such and not mistake it for a game animal. The device includes a harness worn on the dog, having at lease one strap that is located on the side of the dog. A holster assembly includes a base attached to the harness and located on the side of the dog. The base carries a mounting fixture that connects to the end of the mast. The mounting fixture has a bayonet-type zig-zag mounting slot. The mast has a pin at the end that fits into the bayonet type mounting slot of the mounting fixture and rides down the zig-zag slot track to the bottom where it engages in upwardly directed notch. Bias means in the bottom of the fixture bias the pin in engagement in the notch to releasable hold the mast on the harness of the hunting dog.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for picking up semi-rigid to non-rigid bodies having slippery surfaces and irregular shapes from a bin or conveyor and transferring the bodies one at a time to a reception conveyor. Pick-up devices subjected to a vacuum move up an down as they travel in a circle to pick-up a body in a first location, transport the body to a second location, and deposit the body in a reception conveyor.
