  • Patent number: 4770592
Abstract: A truck having a deck unit pivotally connected to the rearward end of a truck chassis rearwardly of the rear wheels, expansible power mechanism connected to the forward end of the deck unit and operable to elevate it to dispose the unit at an acute angle to the horizontal for loading a vehicle onto the deck unit when the rearward end thereof is substantially in engagement with a pavement surface or the like; the improvement comprising a latch mechanism pivotally connected at one end to the deck unit and the other end pivotally interconnectible to the rear wheels, whereby as the power mechanism is expanded to tilt the deck unit as above described, continued expansion operates to compress the conventional springs by which the rear wheels are connected to the chassis and thereby lowers the rearward end of the chassis and, accordingly, lowers the pivot which connects the deck unit to the rear end of the chassis and thereby further decreases the acute angle of the deck unit to the horizontal to facilitate loading

  • Patent number: 4703745
Abstract: An attachment for a bow to be used in cooperation with known supports which engage respectively a side of an arrow and also the lower surface of an arrow. The attachment has a flexible leaf and a cam head. An arrow is mounted to the known supports by moving the arrow shaft laterally against the cam head flexing the leaf upwardly. As the arrow shaft moves past the cam head the leaf snaps back downwardly pressing the arrow against the aforementioned known supports, whereby the attachment acts to prevent an arrow from laterally falling from the bow when mounted on the bow in any shooting position of the bow but not interfering with longitudinal movement of the arrow from the bow when shot therefrom.

  • Patent number: 4674925
Abstract: A gang drill head having a row of drills spaced according to repeated patterns of holes in a tubular member such as a suction roll in a paper-making machine which are clogged and are to be cleared by drilling the same, the drill head being guided for longitudinal movement along a guide member positioned upon the roll for circumferential incremental movement to effect radial movements of the rotating drills for the full circumference of the roll and the head including longitudinal adjustment of individual drill supports in accordance with the spacings of the repeated patterns of holes in the roll. The individual drill chucks are rotated simultaneously and manually controlled linkage causes raising and lowering of the drill head by a fluid-operated unit.

  • Patent number: 4648532
Abstract: A combination mixing and discharge capsule for storing separate ingredients which are to be mixed together prior to use and including a container body for one ingredient closed at one end by a slidable piston and the opposite end being displaceably received in a cup-shaped cap which forms a second compartment with a perforated wall of the container body opposite the end containing the piston for receiving a frangible pillow containing a liquid second ingredient to be mixed with the ingredient in the body. The cap has a discharge nozzle extending axially therefrom and when the cap is displaced farther onto the body the innermost wall of the pillow is burst to cause the discharge of the liquid ingredient through the perforated wall end into the container body for mixing with the ingredient therein.
