  • Patent number: 5251066
Abstract: Disclosed is a device for demisting the surface of a bathroom mirror using hot air supplied by a portable hand-held hot-air blower, and including air-conducting apparatus having duct elements that are detachably mounted along the perimeter of the mirror surface using suction cups or the like. Each duct element has a plurality of spaced-apart nozzles or apertures, and a tubular inlet member is pivotally attached in flow communication with the air-conducting apparatus, and is adapted to slidably and removably receive the tubular exhaust nozzle of the portable blower such that hot air supplied by the blower will exit the duct nozzles and move across the surface of the mirror so as to remove water condensate from the mirror surface.

  • Patent number: 5245778
Abstract: Disclosed is a fishing rod holder including a spring-loaded fishing rod mount that is pivotally attached to the top of a release mechanism housing, and a ground stake that extends downwardly from the housing. The release mechanism includes a trip rod that is slidably mounted in the housing and that is urged by spring force to move longitudinally from a cocked position in which a tip of the trip rod projects through an opening in the front wall of the housing, to a retraced position in which the trip rod tip is retracted within the opening. A lever arm extends laterally from the trip rod through a slot in a side wall of the housing and can be engaged in a vertical part of the slot to hold the trip rod in its cocked position. A flexible latch member extends from the rod mount and has a slip ring on its lower end for engaging the extended tip of the trip rod to retain the fishing rod mount, against spring force, in a generally horizontal position.

  • Patent number: 5241774
Abstract: Disclosed is a float device for a fishing line, the device including a buoyant body with a bore and a slot that extends radially from the bore, an elongate slit tube mounted within the bore of the buoyant body, the slit tube having a longitudinally extending slot that is alignable with the buoyant body slot. A circumferentially extending groove is provided near each end of the slit tube. A pair of end caps have an inwardly projecting annular portion that engages these grooves to hold the end caps rotatably mounted to the slit tube. Each cap has a generally cylindrical side wall, is open at one end and has a circular wall at the other end, and there is a slot that extends through the cylindrical wall and radially through the end wall from a central portion of the end wall. Each end cap can be rotated to bring its slot into alignment with the slit tube slot permitting a fishing line to be moved radially through the aligned slots and into the bore of the slit tube.

  • Patent number: 5233942
Abstract: Disclosed is a leash holder assembly that is removably mountable to the collar of a pet, and including a leash holder made of flexible material and having face-to-face rectangular panels that are stitched along their bottom and side edges in such a manner to provide an open-topped pouch for storing a leash in coiled-up condition, and including a rectangular closure flap that can fold over the top of the pouch to close the pouch, Velcro fastening elements used to secure the closure flap. Velcro equipped tabs secure the holder to the pet collar and the leash is attached at one of its ends to the collar and the handle of the stored leash protrudes through an opening in the pouch. The leash is quickly deployable when required by grasping the handle and pulling it away from the pouch so that the leash uncoils from the grasp of the pouch.

  • Patent number: 5197874
Abstract: Disclosed is a base plate assembly for use in mounting a die-stone dental replica, the assembly including a base plate that has a configuration commensurate with at least one dental quadrant, and having a planar upper surface characterized by an array of transverse elongate rectangular sockets. A plurality of mounting blocks are assembled in side-by-side relationship along the plate planar surface, each block having a downward projection adapted to frictionally and releasably hold the block on the base plate, and extending from the tops of the blocks are anchoring tabs designed to be embedded in the wet positive mold of a dental impression and affixed therein when the mold material cures. In a preferred embodiment, the base plate has a modular configuration and is interconnectable with an identical modular unit to form a combined base plate having a configuration commensurate with full bilateral upper or lower dental quadrants.

  • Patent number: 5194033
Abstract: Disclosed is a stuffed animal toy that is structured for being projected through the air, the toy body having a flexible outer layer with a fur-like exterior, head, neck region, trunk and an elongate tail projecting rearwardly from the trunk, the tail being provided with a plurality of annular folds therealong which allows it to be extendable to a substantially greater length, and an elongate elastic element is mounted entirely within the body of the toy, and extends, in its relaxed condition, from the tip of the tail where one end of the element is secured, to the underside of neck region where the other end of the element is secured. A thumb-grasp is also secured at the underside of the neck region. After grasping the ring with one hand and the tail end with the other hand, the elastic element may be stretched, which action extends the length of the tail. The toy can then be launched through the air by releasing the tail.

  • Patent number: 5174850
Abstract: A tape dispenser, particularly suited for masking tape or like low-tensile strength adhesive tape, and having a frame with a hub portion that provides a cylindrical surface for rotatably mounting a roll of tape and having a central finger-receiving aperture therein. A support wall extends radially from a first side of the hub portion to hold an axially extending flange spaced from a minor segment of the cylindrical surface, whereby the finger-receiving aperture and the flange provide means for grasping the dispenser and not interfering with the rotation of a roll of tape mounted on the dispenser. A swinging arm has one end mounted to the first side of the hub portion, at a location generally radially opposite the flange for rotation about an axis parallel to the axis of the cylindrical surface, and has an application roller mounted at its other end to also rotate about an axis parallel to the axis of the cylindrical surface.
