  • Patent number: 6182638
Abstract: This invention relates to an internal combustion engine with intake and exhaust valves (6, 7) and one nozzle mount (4) per cylinder (2) for an injection nozzle (5) injecting fuel into a combustion chamber, the nozzle mount being connected to a fuel supply line (14) and a return oil line (19), the nozzle mount (1) being screwed into a first recess (13) in the cylinder head (1), and the cylinder head (1) exhibiting a second recess (17) approximately normal to an engine longitudinal plane (16) containing the cylinder axis (3), which second recess, extending from a first cylinder head longitudinal side wall (15a), intersects the first recess (13) approximately radially. In order to make possible a reliable fuel supply to the nozzle mount (4) with minimal space requirement and short fuel supply lines (14), the second recess (17) continues up to the second cylinder head longitudinal side wall (15b) lying opposite the first cylinder head longitudinal side wall (15a) and forms in this region the return oil drain.

  • Patent number: 5692892
Abstract: A continuous flow rotary valve for multiple bed regenerative fume incinerators which has a cylindrical valve housing with three or more bed ports spaced equally about the middle or central portion of the housing, feed and exit ports at opposite ends of the housing and a purge port spaced from the other ports. The valve also includes a cylindrical valve rotor having feed, exit and purge cavities in free flow fluid communication with the feed, exit and purge ports. The feed and exit cavities have radially outward openings which are circumferentially wider than the circumferential space on the housing between two bed ports. During rotary movement of the valve rotor from one operating position to another, the feed cavity will supply feed gas to two bed ports during a portion of the rotary movement and the exit cavity will receive exit gas from two beds during a different portion of the rotary movement.

  • Patent number: 5666858
Abstract: In a twist selector grip for selecting pedal cycle gear ratios, the rotary movement of the grip (3) is converted to a longitudinal movement of a tension member (2). The tension member (2) is fastened to the grip (3) and wound, similar to a screw thread, about the pedal cycle handlebar (1) or a sleeve (4) enclosing it. The tension member (2) is guided in a longitudinal guide (5) fixed in position relative to the pedal cycle handlebar (1) at a relatively great distance, in the direction of the rotation axis of the grip (3), from the fastening point (6) of the tension means (2) to the grip (3). By this construction, the arcuate distance the fastening point (6) travels, upon rotation of the grip (3), is significantly greater than the travel of the tension means (2) in its longitudinal guide (5), whereby a favorable conversion of large rotational movements of the grip (3) into small longitudinal movements of the tension means (2) is achieved.

  • Patent number: 5647320
Abstract: A method and device for assembling and setting the injection pump elements in which the control rod is pressed against an elastically compliant stop in the form of a pin, which engages one end of a longitudinal groove of the control rod. In this position of the control rod, the injection pump elements have an adjusting pin inserted into a recess of the control rod, which adjusting pin is connected by a control arm to the plunger of the injection pump element, and the injection pump element is rotated so that the control arm lies against a stop of the injection pump element. The injection pump element is then bolted in place in this position.By this method and device the control rod, during assembly, is intentionally set a short distance further than it is possible to move it in normal operation by the controller.

  • Patent number: 5503551
Abstract: A single rotary valve is designed to control feed, purge and exit flow in a multiple bed regenerative fume incinerator system thereby replacing the large number of valves heretofore used to operate such a system. The housing of the rotary valve has ports for connection to at least one feed conduit, to at least one exit conduit, to at least 3 regenerator bed conduits and includes an annular opening on the valve axis for a purge gas conduit. The purge gas conduit extends through the annular opening and connects to an interior cavity of the valve rotor which has a peripheral opening registrable individually with the regenerator bed ports. The valve rotor divides the interior chamber of the valve housing into a feed subchamber and an exit subchamber and includes a sealing plenum preventing leakage from the feed subchamber to the exit subchamber.

  • Patent number: 5417927
Abstract: A multiple bed regenerative incinerator is cycled at regular intervals by an automatic control which causes fuel gas to be added to the impure inlet air for a first part of each cycle interval and interrupts the flow of fuel gas to the impure air inlet during a last part of each cycle interval thereby improving the purging of fuel gas from the regenerator being fed the impure air. Fuel gas flow may be adjusted by the control in response to signals from a monitor sensing the lower explosive limit of the impure air/fuel gas mixture. The control may cause the fuel gas to be delivered to a burner in a combustion chamber interconnecting the hot ends of the regenerators during the last part of each cycle interval. High dilution of fuel limits fume temperature and NOx production.

  • Patent number: 5400561
Abstract: In the case of concrete blocks having narrow through holes for water drainage (perforated blocks), in particular paving stones of various formats and sizes that can be laid on surfaces exposed to the rain, such as streets, paths, squares, parking areas and rings around planted trees, and can be filled by means of jointing means or by means of sand at the lateral ends, the problem exists that the holes become plugged upon jointing or sanding-in. In order to prevent this, the holes are closed at their top end until the jointing or sanding-in operation is complete. This is advantageously accomplished by means of a filling agent that can be floated away or dissolves by means of the addition of water.

  • Patent number: 5326319
Abstract: A device with which mowed straw material is prepared, that is, broken up into fibers, in order to speed up the drying process. In order to improve preparation, the central roll 5, as well as the planetary rolls 6, 7, are provided with a surface structure matched to one another. The aggregate 3 comprises all components necessary for preparation and can be pre-assembled and installed in a grass-matting machine in vibration-isolated fashion via the elastic support 20.

  • Patent number: 5326320
Abstract: In a method and an apparatus for forage processing, in order to accelerate its drying process, mown stalk material is fed to rotating pressing elements (7, 7a, 7b), which consolidate the stalk material into a mat of stalk material. In order to produce an inherently stable mat of stalk material, the thickness and density of said mat are to be held constant, independent of the quantity of stalk material supplied by a mowing or collecting means (1), and the forage constituents within the mat are to be better mixed. To this end, the volume of stalk material fed to the pressing means (7) and a conveying speed of the pressing elements (7a and 7b) are continuously transmitted to a control means (20) as measured values, and on the basis of these parameters the conveying speed is reduced by means of the control means (20) in the case of a small quantity of stalk material accumulating (FIG. 1).

  • Patent number: 5300910
Abstract: In a known magnet system, specifically for magnetic separators, having homogeneously magnetized magnet blocks arranged in circular ring shape, the magnet blocks have their magnetization directions aligned differently from one to another and established in accordance with a predetermined mathematical formula. While a magnetic field running almost uniformly over the whole region of the magnet system is thus produced, the magnet blocks are made trapezoidal in cross section and, because of the many distinct magnetization directions, require separate fabrication. Both the fabrication and the assembly of these magnet blocks are therefore relatively complicated and time-consuming. In accordance with the invention, however, the fabrication and the assembly of the magnet blocks into a magnet system are quite substantially simplified and improved by virtue of the fact that the magnet blocks (1) are made square in cross section.
