  • Patent number: 5125807
Abstract: A fuel injection device for diesel engines, having at least one pump plunger (4), which is sealingly guided in a plunger bushing (5) and forms, together with said plunger bushing (5), a high-pressure space (11) that is connected to a low-pressure space (13) by means of a control element during the downward motion of the fuel pump plunger, said high-pressure space (11) being placed in free flow communication with an injection valve (49) via an injection line 48. The use of a continuously open flow connection between the high-pressure space 11 and the injection valve 49 minimizes dead space thereby permitting development of high injection pressures.

  • Patent number: 5106019
Abstract: The fuel injector includes an injection pump element with electromagnetically actuated control valve body supported therein for the control of the beginning of delivery and the quantity delivered. The injection pump element and the control valve are individually replaceable and the control valve body seats without recoil. A control valve (2), which is arranged with clearance in a stepped hole (19) in a plunger bushing (5) is supported in sealing elements (20). The freedom from recoil is achieved by adaptation of a minimum clearance (46) between an anchor plate (30) and an electromagnetic adjusting device (7), the anchor plate (30) being situated in a liquid-filled damping space (33) and the minimum clearance (46) being optimized as a function of the mass of the moving parts of the control valve (2), the spring stiffness of the control valve seat (25), the geometry of an anchor plate (30) and the viscosity of the fuel in the service temperature range.

  • Patent number: 5072080
Abstract: Safety edge switch for power-actuated devices such as roller gates, roller grilles, lifting platforms and working platforms as well as for securing movable objects and machines having a hollow elastic profile, which exhibits, at least on its inner side, surfaces that are electrically conductive by virture of admixtures of conductive substances, such as carbon black, graphite and metal powder, mutual contact of the electrically conductive surfaces leading to a switching pulse. The hollow body exhibits in the interior at least two strip-like, electrically conductive projections and at least one opposing surface, likewise electrically conductive, guided along the hollow body, by which means contacting between the electrically conductive surfaces is improved. The use of multiple electrically conductive projections insures adequate electrical contact between the conductive projections and the opposed conductive surface even when the operating force is applied from various directions.

  • Patent number: 5069036
Abstract: An exhaust gas line system for an internal combustion engine supercharged by an exhaust gas turbocharger, having a modularly assembled exhaust gas collector pipe (1), which supplies the turbocharger with exhaust gas and is connected to all cylinders of a bank of cylinders via connecting lines (2), the exhaust gas collector pipe (1) being closed at its end distant from the turbine and exhibiting, over its entire length, a nearly constant cross section. It is the object of the invention to create, for a supercharged internal combustion engine, an exhaust gas line system that utilizes the kinetic energy of the exhaust gas in the most loss-free possible fashion for driving the turbocharger. This is achieved by the connecting lines (2) discharging into the exhaust gas collector pipe (1) via a diffusor-shaped inlet opening (3) and by providing a constriction (4) upstream of the inlet opening.

  • Patent number: 5023418
Abstract: A safety edge switch for power-actuated devices such as roller gates, roller grilles, etc., and lifting platforms, working platforms and the like, as well as for the guarding of machines or spaces, for example as safety flooring, with a hollow rubber profile (1) within which there is a knife-edge rib (5), the surface of the rib and the opposing surface of the hollow rubber profile being made electrically conductive and the mutual contact of the surfaces leading to a switching pulse. The requisite conductivity of the hollow rubber profile is achieved by virtue of the fact that the rib (5) and the main part of the hollow rubber profile (1) are made wholly electrically conductive, the conductivity arising through the admixture of conductive substances such as carbon black, graphite, metal powder and the like. The rib and the main part of the hollow rubber profile are insulated from each other by virtue of the fact that ordinary nonconductive rubber is present between these parts.

  • Patent number: 5012768
Abstract: Known cooling systems exhibit separate radiators (3), compensator reservoirs (2) and fan shrouds (1). These parts must all be mounted separately, then, and as they are generally placed at various locations in the vehicle, connecting hoses must be led from the various mounting places to the internal-combustion engine. In accordance with the invention, the compensator reservoir (2) and the fan shroud (1) are fabricated in one piece and made as a support for the radiator (3). Thus, only one part need be mounted on the vehicle or on the internal-combustion engine, and only one hose run need be provided to connect the cooling system to the internal-combustion engine.

  • Patent number: 4969436
Abstract: A governor for injection pumps of diesel internal combustion engines in which the injection amount is controlled by the boost pressure. The governor is mounted directly on the crank casing of the internal combustion engine together with an electromagnet which is energized at startup. The governor and the electromagnet transmit thrust and motion to the control rod of the injection pump through the same lever system. The electromagnet is switched in such a way that it overrides the governor during the engine starting process. The lever system is constructed to produce a nonlinear transmission of the movement of the membrane to the control rod.

  • Patent number: 4906218
Abstract: The threshed material passing through the foraminous cage and concave of the processor section of the combine falls by gravity to a distribution auger in a trough at the bottom of the processor housing. The threshed material passes through a slot in the trough to a pair of accelerator rolls which throw the threshed material downwardly to the cleaning section of the combine. In order to help the distribution auger to distribute the threshed material to the slot whereby the threshed material is spread along the trough and discharges at a relatively even flow rate along the length of the slot, one or two movable trough extensions are added to reduce the width of the slot along a portion of its length.

  • Patent number: 4898108
Abstract: A seed singulator for an agricultural planter uses a housing with a seed cavity to which seed and compressed air is delivered and a disc with seed pockets which, in rotating, pick up seed kernels from the seed cavity and drop them at equally spaced intervals. A wear ring prevents the rotating disc from wearing the singulator housing and a resilient air cutoff pad has radial extensions which extend between sealing surfaces on the housing and the wear ring whereby seeds are prevented from wedging between the air cutoff pad and the side walls of the groove in which the pad is installed. The trailing edge of the air cutoff pad has coplanar segments in angular relation to one another which serve to accurately space the seed when using a seed disc with multiple annular rows of seed pockets.
