Abstract: A thoracic belt which comprises two separate sections with adjustable connections at the ends thereof to adjust the belt to many sizes of torsos. Each section of the belt is provided with a flexible supporting member, one near the front of the body and one at the back, and having hooks for supporting the belt and user on any kind of support whereby the user can suspend himself and upon flexing the knees, place an upwardly directed or vertical traction force on the thorax relieving pressure on the lower spinal area.
Abstract: A lid for a plastic trash can having interlocking structures therewith at diametrically opposite sides thereof, each said structure including an inverted rim on both lid and can, a handle spaced from the container but integral therewith, and a pair of spaced vertical walls for each handle, a slot in each wall, the rim of the lid being lodged in the slots with the lid in place to close the container.
Abstract: Continuously operating batch system for proportioning concentrate for blood treatment through the use of a proportioning tank and means for filling and emptying the same dependent upon pressure and flow in the mixing tank.
Abstract: A cycle rack for a trailer hitch the construction being such as to easily mount and dismount the cycle rack at the same time allowing for the normal function of the trailer hitch.
Abstract: A wheel chair having novel features for more comfort and easier operation by the occupant, with reference to the chain drive and tension adjustment therefor, a guard for the chain, a variable tension brake system, swing away foot rests, and swing away (and removable) arm rests, whereby the user can enter from the side of the chair.
Abstract: A fly tying device including relatively heavy resilient steel bars which are provided with a supportive means and also concave edges which face each other to space the bars for a major portion of the length thereof together with a cam to temporarily spread the free ends of the bars apart to accept the hook.
Abstract: A hydraulic heat generator including a reservoir, a pump, a heating area and a medium giving off heat at a remote location wherein the heating element includes a relatively zigzag, very thin passage for the hydraulic material received from the reservoir and including thermostatically controlled means for varying the thickness of this path when called upon to do so, depending upon the setting thereof.
Abstract: A safe method for mixing pure oxygen, or an oxygen enriched gas, at high pressure, with waste liquor in a wet oxidation system, such that intermittent drying conditions are avoided, thereby preventing possible spontaneous combustion, fire or explosion; comprising adding the oxygen to pure liquid water before it is mixed with the waste liquor.
Abstract: A container having a disc, plate or the like located therein part way between the top and bottom of the container. In this disc there are provided a plurality of conical or similar structures, some extending above and some extending below the disc. These structures act as funnels. Structures extending generally below the device have their larger ends uppermost, and others of the structures that extend above the device have their smaller ends uppermost. Water or other fluid that is to act on the material in the container below the disc enters the wider ends of the dependent funnels or hollow structures to mix with the material under the disc, and the solution rises to exit through the inverted funnels or structures having their smaller ends uppermost.
Abstract: A chair comprising a relatively elevated seat with an adjustable pivoted foot rest which can be positioned in useful or out-of-the-way positions, including easily operable manual means for the occupant to move the foot rest, for the purpose of providing a comfortable foot support for invalids, particularly arthritics, and to allow them to more easily enter and leave the chair.
Abstract: A hinge construction comprising two members, a plate on each member, an offside out-of-the-way hinge, and a substantially recess and aperture free pivoted channel safety cover to protect the area of abutment of the two members when in such position.

Abstract: An all plastic box and cover therefor including snap-in hinge-forming parts having associated therewith tabs that prevent misassembly and also acting as stops preventing the cover from opening past a 180.degree. relation with the box.
Abstract: A double end wrench having an elongated handle with a pivoted wrench head at each end, and a sliding sleeve which may be positioned to leave both wrench heads unaffected or may be slid to one end or the other of the wrench to lock the respective head in position, so that each wrench head is angularly adjustable.

Abstract: A machine for the rolling of cylindrical forms such as threads, worms, serrations, and annular forms, using two cylindrical dies whose axes are parallel or slightly skewed with respect to the axis of rotation of the workpiece, wherein the dies are supported on pivoting arms whose pivot points are cooperatively adjustable about a fixed horizontal centerline to provide for work diameter and die size changes. Workpiece size adjustment is achieved by a micrometer drawbar which can be either fixed for thru-feed work or hydraulically or mechanically actuated for infeed work. The dies are cooperatively driven by a central gearbox consisting of a hollow distributor gear flanked by two spindle drive gears, said drive gears being connected to the ends of the die spindles by universal joints.
Abstract: A fly tyer's vise comprising a pair of hardened spring members rigidly adjacent one end of the pair and having a cam operated device for spreading the opposite ends to accept hook, the members including a relatively small transverse slotted member for receiving and holding the hook at the point in front of the barb, the members also holding the hook in the area of the bend thereof, the vise being able to firmly clamp hooks from size 28 to size 1.
Abstract: A swivel construction for a pair of superposed relatively rotatable plates having a ball bearing race therebetween and comprising a bolt fixed to the top plate and extending through the bottom plate centrally thereof, a cylindrical plastic bearing sleeve between the bolt and the bottom plate, a flange on the sleeve, and a nut on the bolt exerting variable pressure on the sleeve flange and on the bottom plate.
