Abstract: A crank mechanism for eyewear comprises a rigid, elongated member which extends across the front frame of the eyewear. Opposite ends of the crank mechanism pivotally connect to the front ends of the right and left temple members, respectively, and operates to move the temple members between their open and folded positions simultaneously with each other.

Abstract: A unique unitary lens for eyewear includes right and left lens regions formed of substantially spherical portions. The lens provides improved aerodynamics, aesthetic appearance and eye protection for sport eyewear applications.
Abstract: An electroacoustic device such as a hearing aid having a battery, microphone, speaker, a preamplifier, a voltage regulator and power amplifier. The power amplifier includes identically configured output and bridge stages connected to opposite sides of the speaker, the output signals from the output stage being connected through a blocking capacitor to the input of the bridge stage. The output/bridge stage circuit includes an interface stage and two current gain stages. The interface stage converts voltage signals to current signals with a pair of outputs respectively connected to the two like-configured current gain stages. Each current gain stage includes two successive sections, each having a pair of transistors, one of which is configured as a diode connected in series with a resistor to shunt current from the base of the other transistor.
Abstract: A method for treating contact lenses with solutions including a material having (a) a hydrophobic core having at least three carbon atoms and (b) at least three hydrophilic polyethylene oxide chains attached to the core.
Abstract: A composition for delaying release of an active component into an aqueous fluid is taught which includes a capsule that swells in the presence of an aqueous fluid allowing moisture to enter the capsule into contact with a capsule decomposing agent activated by the entering moisture such that the agent decomposes the capsule sufficiently to release the active agent at a predetermined delayed time after the capsule contacts the aqueous fluid. A preferred capsule composition is gelatin and decomposing agents are a proteolytic enzyme or a salt that effects the osmotic gradient of the system. The controlled release composition of the invention is preferably utilized in a soft contact lens disinfecting system wherein a solution of hydrogen peroxide disinfects the lenses followed by neutralization of residual hydrogen peroxide wherein release of the neutralizing agent is delayed by means of the capsule proteolytic enzyme or salt composition.
Abstract: A composition for cleaning contact lenses comprises a silicone surface active agent having cleaning activity for contact lens deposits. The silicone surface active agent has at least one side chain including a radical ionizable in aqueous solution.
