  • Patent number: 7956122
Abstract: A polyurethane sealant is provided that includes a fatty acid ester that is used to replace volatile solvent in the sealant formulation and a reaction product of polyoxyalkylene polyol and polyisocyanate. The polyurethane sealant produced has a non-volatile materials content of at least 96%. In addition to reducing the volatile organic compounds (voc) content and maintaining the attributes of a sealant, the use of fatty acid esters provides the sealant with superior material extrusion, improved gunning and tooling, and improved package stability. Also provided is a method for making a polyurethane sealant where the polyisocyanate component the polyol component are combined to form a reaction product, and the reaction product is combined with the fatty acid ester component, wherein the polyurethane sealant has a non-volatile materials content of at least 96%.

  • Patent number: 7923487
Abstract: A lightweight finish composition, method of production and a method of application are provided. The lightweight finish composition comprises a resin dispersion, alkali metal phosphate, alkylolammonium salt of a polyfunctional polymer, and lightweight aggregate such as silica spheres. The lightweight aggregate has a density and weight that is less than those of sand. The combination of alkali metal phosphate and alkylolammonium salt of a polyfunctional polymer stabilizes the lightweight finish composition by preventing the lightweight aggregate from absorbing water, after production of the lightweight finish composition.

  • Patent number: 7922808
Abstract: An improved freeze-thaw durability dry cast cementitious composition is provided that uses very small (0.1 ?m to 100 ?m average diameter) polymeric microspheres that are blended directly into the mixture and optionally gas-generating additives. The polymeric microspheres provide void spaces in the material matrix that act to increase freeze-thaw durability of the material. In this dry cast cementitious composition, polymeric microspheres act as pre-formed voids.

  • Patent number: 7886483
Abstract: An electronic device to warn of low water level, particularly in a Christmas tree water reservoir base. A flashing unit provides an affect to an outlet where the strand of lights on the tree or another lighted device will turn on and off until the water is filled into the base again. A message will be played at intervals. The message is recorded by pressing a button then speaking into a microphone. Messages are limited only to the human imagination. The lights will stop flashing and the message will stop playing when the water is filled into the reservoir base. The circuitry is housed separately away from the base to prevent shock.
