  • Patent number: 8348907
Abstract: A hypodermic injection system particularly for use in mass immunizations having a handpiece with a grasping mechanism for holding ampules filled with injectate, a plunger for driving into the ampule to discharge the injectate in an injection process, an injection spring mechanism for driving the plunger, a motor and/or manual mechanism for cocking the injection spring mechanism, and an ampule ejection mechanism for ejecting ampules after use under control of a release mechanism. Ampules can be loaded, used and ejected without contact by the user of the system or the patient being injected. Also disclosed are a filling station for filling ampules through their injection orifices, and an arming device for setting the injection spring. Ampules are disclosed having a piston which is drivable towards an orifice to discharge injectate through the orifice. Ampules are also disclosed having enlarged proximal portions for easy grasping by the grasping mechanism of the injector.

  • Patent number: 8317826
Abstract: An absorbable multifilament draw-textured yarn having a bulky structure, and a manufacturing method and medical use thereof The absorbable multifilament draw-textured yarn is obtained by draw-texturing a multifilament made of an absorbable polymer and has bulkiness and a superior soft touch, which are the characteristics of draw-textured yarns. As a result of partially imparting a bulkiness of 150-1000% to the multifilament draw-textured yarn, it is possible to culture cells in the bulky structure, and the multifilament draw-textured yarn is suitable for cell delivery or drug delivery.

  • Patent number: 8307983
Abstract: A non-reclosable package for products which are prejudicial to health, such as pharmaceutical products. The package comprises a first packaging material element and a second packaging material element. The two packaging material elements are arranged on top of each other. The package has at least one first surface section, at the margin or margins of which the two packaging material elements are releasably connected with each other. At least one cavity, which is enclosed on all sides and receives the product to be packaged, is formed between the two packaging material elements. The package has at least one second surface section lying outside or adjoining the first surface section, and at the margin or margins of which the two packaging material elements are releasably connected with each other. At least one of the two packaging material elements has at least one structure extending within the second surface section and enables the packaging material element(s) to be torn.

  • Patent number: 8245468
Abstract: A flexible, extruded plastic wall structure with a hollow core is presented along with a method of making the same. The wall structure has an overall flat back wall, an overall front wall and at least one support wall extending between and confined to the interior surfaces of the overall back wall and the overall front wall; the overall back wall, the overall front wall and the at least one support wall having a generally uniform thickness and defining at least two defined spaces. The wall structure includes sections, where the rear wall of each section is flat from the bottom of the wall structure to the top of the wall structure. The hollow wall structure has a front wall having vertically disposed sections with different contours. The method includes using extrusion die for heating and extruding plastics using a multi-functional insert within the die and air pressure to create a hollow core in the wall structure.
