  • Patent number: 7843340
Abstract: A mail delivery alert system includes a mailbox housing that encloses an interior space that defines an open front. A door is pivotally coupled to the housing and is movable between open and closed configurations relative to the open front. A first sensor is positioned in the housing so as to detect an opening of the door and a second sensor is positioned so as to detect the presence of an article, such as mail, in the open space of the housing. The system includes a transmitter and a processor. The processor includes programming for actuating the transmitter to transmit an alert signal through the air upon the first sensor detecting an opening of the door and the second sensor detecting the presence of an article in the open space of the housing. The system includes a receiver remote from the housing for receiving the alert signal.

  • Patent number: 7832911
Abstract: A motorcycle safety device includes a housing and a mount for coupling the housing to a motorcycle. A light assembly is removably coupled to the housing, the light assembly including a casing, a light positioned inside the casing, a lens coupled to the casing, and a battery positioned inside the casing. An input is in communication with the light to selectively cause the light to illuminate an area in front of the housing. A processor, tilt sensor, timer, and speaker are coupled to the housing, the tilt sensor and timer being in data communication with the processor. The processor includes programming to actuate at least one of the light and speaker upon the tilt sensor detecting a tilt event for a predetermined amount of time measured by the timer.

  • Patent number: 7833137
Abstract: An exercise system includes a flexible attachment member sized for positioning between a shoe's tongue and laces that extends beneath a majority of the laces. The attachment member includes opposed first and second faces, the first face having hook and loop coupling elements of a first configuration, the second face having hook and loop coupling elements of a second configuration. The exercise system includes a plurality of weight members, each having a first face with hook and loop coupling elements of the first configuration and a second face with hook and loop coupling elements of the second configuration. The hook and loop coupling elements of the first and second configurations are complementary to one another to couple at least one weight members to the attachment member first or second face and couple at least one the weight members atop a respective weight member coupled to the attachment member.

  • Patent number: 7832701
Abstract: A portable easel includes a cap plate defining a first leg receiving area and a second leg receiving area spaced apart from the first leg receiving area. The easel includes first and second legs each having a coupling member at an upper end that is pivotally coupled to the cap plate at a respective receiving area. Each coupling member includes a flange extending from a terminal end thereof. Each receiving area defines a cavity configured to receive a respective flange therein, each flange being movable therein between opposed stops such that each of the first and second legs are movable between open and closed configurations. Gas springs are operatively coupled to respective legs. The easel includes support structures for holding an artist's canvas. A ground stake is pivotally coupled to lower ends of each leg for selectively anchoring the easel to a ground surface.

  • Patent number: 7816818
Abstract: A stove knob timer device for use with a stove prompts a user to monitor a cooking event through a series of increasingly aggressive audible prompts. The timer device includes a main housing for engaging a stove operational shaft and which, when rotated to activate a respective stove burner, actuates a timer. After a predetermined time, a speaker is activated to emit an audible alarm to prompt a user to monitor the stove and to require a reset button to be pressed. If the reset button is not pressed in a predetermined time, the speaker is actuated to emit a more aggressive alarm so as to more urgently or even awaken a user. If the timer is reset, the original predetermined time is restarted. The timer device may include programming to adjust between timer modes and have structures enabling universal fit on various stove configurations.

  • Patent number: 7774872
Abstract: A loft bed includes a framework including head and foot portions, each having front and back upstanding posts and connector members therebetween. Each portion includes a connector member defining a roller guide channel, each channel extending substantially between respective upstanding posts of the head and foot portions. Each front upstanding post defines a pin guide channel extending vertically therealong between upper and lower guide channel ends. An upper bed frame includes opposed end rails with opposed side rails extending therebetween. A pair of rollers is attached to the end rails of the upper bed frame and receivable in the roller guide channels. A pair of pins is attached to respective ends of the bed frame for receipt in the pin guide channels. Movement of the roller and pins in the channels enables movement of the bed frame between a sleep configuration and selectable folded out configurations.
