Abstract: A measuring device includes at least three elongate sides, each side having first and second ends and a pair of outer edges extending therebetween. Each side includes a channel extending between the first and second ends at each outer edge. The measuring device includes a plurality of strips, the quantity of strips being at least as great as the quantity of all the channels. Each strip includes scaled indicia that is different from scaled indicia of every other strip. A respective strip is removably positioned in each of the channels such that each side has two of the strips offset 180 degrees away from each other. Each side is transparent to allow the scaled indicia of the strips in the channels to be viewed.

Abstract: A tracking system for use with an arrow having a shaft and arrowhead includes a housing having first and second separable portions that define an interior area. A transmitter is operatively coupled to one of the portions and positioned in the interior area when coupled together. A first anchor is configured to be coupled to the shaft and the housing first end. A second anchor is configured to be coupled to the arrowhead and the housing second end. A fastener selectively couples the first and second portions together. A switch activates automatically when the fastener is moved to couple the first and second portions together and causes the transmitter to activate. The system includes a tracking unit having a receiver, display, processor, and programming to indicate a location of the transmitter based on signal received by the receiver from the transmitter. Data received from the transmitter may include an identifier.

Abstract: A collapsible animal transport apparatus includes a planar floor member, front and rear members each having a lower side rotatably coupled to a rear side of the floor member, and a front member having a lower side rotatably coupled to a floor member front side. First and second side members have respective upper and lower sides, respective lower sides being rotatably coupled to opposed sides of the floor member. The apparatus includes first and second roof members each having interior and exterior sides, respective roof member exterior sides being rotatably coupled to first and second side member upper sides, respectively. The second roof member interior side is removably coupled to the first roof member interior side. The front and rear members, the first and second side members, and the first and second roof members are movable between a storage configuration and a use configuration.

Abstract: A lid for use with a jar having an opening includes a closure member configured to cover the jar opening when the closure member is fastened to the jar. The lid includes an attachment member coupled to the closure member to selectively fasten the closure member to the jar. A catch is coupled to the closure member that extends toward the jar when the closure member is fastened to the jar. The lid includes a utensil having a use end and an opposed attachment end. A hook extends from the utensil attachment end so as to rotatably couple the utensil to the catch, each hook being removable from the catch only when the utensil is generally parallel to the closure member. The utensil has a length that prevents the utensil from being generally parallel to the closure member when the closure member is fastened to the jar.

Abstract: An apparatus for sterilizing various articles includes a cabinet defining a chamber and having a door coupled to the cabinet for selectively sealing the chamber in an airtight manner. The apparatus includes a vacuum pump in communication with the chamber for withdrawing air from the chamber and any respective article placed therein, e.g. a pillow, the vacuum pump causing a reduced air pressure within the chamber. The apparatus further includes an ozone generator in communication with the chamber for introducing ozone into the chamber and into any respective article placed therein. Still further, the apparatus includes an ozone filter in communication with the chamber and having a non-consumable catalyst for converting the ozone into oxygen.

Abstract: A post hole digger includes a pair of blades that face one another, a pair of shaft handles attached to the blades, and a pivot member that pivotally couples the shaft handles together. A pair of gripping handles are attached to, and are generally perpendicular to, the shaft handles, which provides a second gripping location for the user and enhances the ability to thrust and rotate the tool in the ground. The blades are off-set by at least ¼ inch from each other in order to improve a user's ability to rotate the post hole digger and remove soil from the hole. The blades include an angled distal edge, which has a leading edge portion, an intermediate edge portion and a trailing edge portion. The leading edge extends downwardly further than the intermediate portion, which in turn extends downwardly further than the trailing edge portion.

Abstract: A pill dispenser includes a housing having front, rear, and side walls defining a hollow interior. A pill holding member is removably coupled to the housing front wall and defines a frontward bore configured to receive a pill and being in operative communication with the housing front opening. An elongate plunger shaft having proximal and distal ends is positioned extends through the housing. The shaft is movable between a retracted configuration in which the distal end extends from the housing rear wall and an actuated configuration in which the distal end is adjacent the housing rear wall. A spring is positioned in the dispenser housing and operatively connected to the plunger shaft for selectively moving the plunger shaft between the retracted and actuated configurations so as to eject a pill from the holding member. The shaft may be retracted to selected positions before being spring actuated to dispense a pill.

Abstract: A leaf gathering apparatus includes upper and lower conveyor axes, a conveyor extending around the upper and lower conveyor axes that is continuously rotatable, and a rotatable sweeping mechanism having a generally horizontal axis of rotation, the sweeping mechanism being configured to move leaves from a ground surface onto the conveyor. The apparatus includes a bag and a channel extending from the conveyor to the bag to direct leaves therebetween. A shredder is located along the channel. A frame, the upper and lower conveyor axes, and the sweeping mechanism are operatively coupled to the frame. A plurality of wheels are operatively coupled to the frame to allow the frame to be easily transported and a motor is operatively coupled to the sweeping mechanism to rotate the sweeping mechanism, the motor being operatively coupled to at least one of the upper and lower conveyor axes to rotate the conveyor.

Abstract: A motorcycle stand includes first and second legs pivotable relative to one another between a maximum spread configuration, an intermediate spread configuration, and a storage configuration; the legs being generally parallel to one another when at the storage configuration. The motorcycle stand includes a biased plunger operatively coupled to the first leg and a pin operatively extending from at least one of the first and second legs. The second leg includes a first cavity configured to receive the plunger when the first and second legs are at the intermediate spread configuration. The first and second legs are maintained at the intermediate spread configuration when the plunger is received in the first cavity. The pin includes a distal segment for insertion in a motorcycle axle, the distal segment being neither parallel nor perpendicular to the first and second legs.

Abstract: An alarm clock includes a processor and a plurality of stored audio message files in data communication with the processor. The processor is in data communication with an audio source, a speaker, a display, a user input, and a clock. The alarm clock includes a case containing these components. The processor includes programming to actuate the display to visually present time data from the clock, actuate the speaker to audibly present a first audio message file at a first alarm time, actuate the speaker to audibly present audio from the audio source after the speaker audibly presents the first audio message file, and actuate the speaker to audibly present a second audio message file at a second alarm time, actuate the speaker to audibly present audio from the audio source after the speaker audibly presents the second audio message file.

Abstract: A hair dryer and vacuum device includes a housing having a nozzle, a handle, and a body portion situated between the handle and nozzle, the nozzle including a first channel extending from the body portion to an outlet port and a second channel extending from the body portion to an inlet port. A heating coil is mounted in the body portion for heating air and a dryer fan is positioned adjacent the heating coil that is configured to blow the heated air through the outlet port when energized. A vacuum fan is mounted in the second channel and configured to draw air into the second channel through the inlet port when energized. The device includes a collection chamber situated between the vacuum fan and the body portion and in communication with the second channel such that fallen hair is collected therein.

Abstract: A letter opening device for use with a writing instrument having a writing end and a distal end includes an elongate clip and a protrusion generally perpendicular from the elongate clip for operative coupling to the writing instrument. The letter opening device also includes a cutting blade extending between the elongate clip and the protrusion to open a letter when the letter is passed between the elongate clip and the writing instrument from the distal end toward said writing end. The protrusion may alternatively be coupled to a sleeve for removable attachment to the writing instrument.

Abstract: An oral hygiene device for use with a sink having hot and cold water lines includes a storage mount and a housing removably coupled thereto. The housing includes hot and cold water inputs and an outlet. The housing also includes first and second channels coupling the inputs to the outlet. The device includes piping tees and flexible tubing for connection to a sink's water lines. The device includes adjustable temperature valves in the first and second channels, respectively, for regulating amounts of hot and cold water passing through the channels. An adjustable volume valve is included for determining a volume of water exiting the outlet. The storage mount may be installed on a sink adjacent the faucet so that the oral hygiene device is a permanent fixture.

Abstract: A communication system for use with an automobile having an accelerator, a brake, a cruise control, and a brake lamp includes a display, a transmitter, a receiver, and a cruise lamp visible from outside the automobile. The communication system includes a processor in data communication with the accelerator, the brake, the cruise control, the brake lamp, the display, the transmitter, the receiver, and the cruise lamp. The processor includes programming to actuate the display to present data received by the receiver and to actuate the cruise lamp when the cruise control is actuated. The processor also includes programming to actuate the transmitter to transmit cruise data when the cruise control is actuated. Programming also causes the cruise lamp to blink when the cruise control is actuated while the accelerator is actuated. Programming may also actuate the transmitter to transmit acceleration data when the cruise control and the accelerator are actuated.

Abstract: A kinetic energy storage device includes first and second counter-rotating variable flywheels coupled to a differential. A control mechanism coupled to both flywheels allows the moment of inertia of each flywheel to be adjusted so that the flywheels, differentia, and control mechanism operate as a true infinitely variable transmission. The differential includes an output to allow kinetic energy to be extracted from and added to the device. The counter-rotating flywheels provide stability and controllability making the device suitable for use with short duty-cycle vehicle motivation. Also disclosed is a vehicle drive train configured to be driven by said kinetic energy storage device and a fixture for providing initial kinetic energy to the device.
