  • Patent number: 6742416
Abstract: This bit has an axis and a tip end with an obtuse angle. There are multiple scraping surfaces, each facing counter-clockwise into a longitudinal recess in the tip end. Each scraping surface has a scraping edge at an angle of about 55° to 70° to the axis. Behind each scraping surface the outer surface of the tip end curves down to a rearward edge adjacent another of the longitudinal recesses, the rearward edges each being disposed at a sharper angle to the axis than the scraping edge so that there is some relief, allowing the scraping edge to be more pronounced and enhance its ability to dig into the metal of a deformed screw at points removed from the axis to get a good purchase on the screw.

  • Patent number: 6640664
Abstract: The method includes providing a motor having a drive shaft mounting a pinion profile having an outside diameter and a mounting collar surrounding the shaft, the collar having an outside diameter less than the outside diameter of the gear. A gearbox wall formed with an opening having a generally ring-gear shape larger than the pinion and an inside diameter substantially the same as the outside diameter of the collar. The pinion is maneuvered through the opening and the collar is pressed into the motor-mounting opening. The invention is also the structure of the finished assembly including the opening.

  • Patent number: 6499709
Abstract: The bracket comprising an L-shaped mount defined by perpendicular plates having top and bottom bridging walls apertured in vertical alignment, the bottom wall formed with a blocking surface. The bracket also comprises a leaf plate having aligned upward and downward ears which pivot in the respective apertures, and the dimensions of the plate permit some vertical movement of the plate so that it can clear the blocking surface. The plate has a perpendicular flat tongue adapted to slip into a slot at one end of the shade to immobilize a portion of the power unit. The blocking surface keeps the plate from swinging open.

  • Patent number: 6415686
Abstract: This power assembly has a housing with upper and lower housing portions and a frame of adjustable height in the housing. The housing mounts a worm gear in one of its portions, and the frame carries a worm on a fixed axis meshing with the worm gear. When the worm gear is changed for one of a different diameter, the frame carrying the worm may be raised or lowered to change the center distances so that the worm meshes with the new worm gear.

  • Patent number: 6360836
Abstract: For a baby stroller, an add-on assembly comprises a planar rectangular chassis pivotally attached to the stroller rear axle and carrying on its distal end a drive shaft with wheels. The chassis also mounts an electric motor having a spur gear engaging a ring gear in one of the wheels. At least one strut is connected at one end to the structure of the stroller well above the axle and at the other end to the rear of the chassis. The strut holds the chassis downward so that the drive wheels engage the pavement, supplanting the stroller rear wheels. Battery and controls for the motor are included.
