  • Patent number: 7503438
Abstract: A transmission brake (1) is described, where one transmission shaft (3) can be braked to carry out an upshift operation. The aim of the invention is to provide a transmission brake that is devoid of any hydraulic or pneumatic actuation device and that requires very little axial installation space. Such a transmission brake (1) has one electromagnetic actuation device (6, 7, 8) with which the friction elements (4, 5) of the transmission brake (1) can be pressed against each other for actuating the brake.

  • Patent number: 7467038
Abstract: A method for detecting a rotational direction of the secondary side of a starting clutch in a motor vehicle string comprising the steps of determination of the primary speed of rotation of the primary side and of the secondary speed of rotation of the starting clutch. If the secondary speed of rotation is greater than the primary speed of rotation, an actuator operates in a closing direction, whereby the degree of closure of the starting clutch is adjusted to be dependent upon the acceleration of the secondary speed of rotation. A specified value for a rotational speed of the driving motor is produced which represents the secondary speed of rotation. To the extent that this value exceeds the value of the primary rotational speed, the rotational speed of the motor is regulated to the specified value. If the primary and secondary rotational speeds are equivalent within a preselected period of time, then detecting the same rotational direction for the primary and secondary sides of the starting clutch.

  • Patent number: 7463132
Abstract: A locking doorknob which recognizes a fingerprint, in which the detecting sensor of a fingerprint is installed on the spot of the doorknob that a thumb or other fingers are placed naturally as the door is being opened. The locking doorknob is an electro mechanical device which can be powered by a remote electrical power system, specifically by electromagnetic induction through the door latch and strike plate. During operation, as soon as a user grasps the doorknob, a fingerprint is measured and searched and, if the fingerprint corresponds to a fingerprint previously input, the door is unlocked and the doorknob can be turned to open the door. An image capture device may also be combined with the doorknob to facilitate recognition of persons using or attempting to use the doorknob. In this way, fingerprint recognition, continuous real time security and opening of the door are performed at the same time.
