Abstract: This invention relates to a brush conventionally based on a metal wire (1) folded on itself and twisted in a spiral to form an attachment core (6) for fiber tufts forming the brush itself, the main characteristics being that it includes two types of fibers, namely plastic fibers (4) for example made of nylon, and vegetable fibers (5) for example made of cotton, linen or the like. The tufts of both types fibers (4-5) are laid out alternately such that the vegetable fibers (5) “stock” the makeup product, thus facilitating impregnation of the plastic fibers (4) when these plastic fibers come into contact with the user's eyelashes, making it possible to apply the mascara in a single pass.

Abstract: A buckle is formed by an upper plate (33) pivotally connected to an end of a first band, and a lower plate (35) and pivotally connected to the upper plate, and a slidable frame (40) pivotally connected to an end of the lower plate. A push plate (43) is attached to the slidable frame so that a second band (36) can be inserted in the space between the push plate and a bottom plate (38), and a pushing projection (48) is formed at an end of the lower plate for pressing the push plate to the second band. A stopper rod (50) is provided in the slidable frame so as to abut against the pushing projection at a position where the pushing projection strongly presses the push plate, thereby preventing the lower plate from rotating downwardly over the slidable frame fixing position.
Abstract: A pair of tongs is disclosed that includes first and second spaced apart members each having a first end having a jaw-like part and a second end, the second ends of the first and second members being movable toward and away from each other by the use of one hand. A first connecting element with a first straight toothed surface extends from a point on the first member between its first and second ends and a second connecting element having a second straight toothed surface facing the first straight toothed surface extends from a point on the second member between the first and second ends of the second member for releasably engaging the first connecting element. The first toothed surface includes first and second rows of teeth and the second row of teeth is displaced relative to the first row of teeth.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a garment construction comprising an outer waterproof/breatheable fabric layer to which is attached a reticulated foam to space the inner surface of the outer garment layer from the ordinary clothes of a wearer of the garment, which is suitably a jacket, to enable air flow within the garment to remove water vapour through vents provided in the garment. The garment thereby allows the user to perform strenuous activity whilst remaining dry.
Abstract: A process for the removal of reactive silica from a feedstock to the digestion step of the Bayer process for the manufacture of alumina, in which (a) the feedstock is contacted with a caustic liquor under process conditions which result in dissolving and stabilizing at least 50% of the silica into solution at a level of at least 3 gpL and without significant precipitation from solution of dissolved silica, (b) the silica bearing liquor is separated from solid residue of step (a) under conditions which do not promote significant precipitation of the silica; and (c) aluminosilicates are precipitated from the separated silica bearing liquor from step (b), to form a solid aluminosilicate product which is free of a majority of all other components of the feedstock.

Abstract: An overcap for a container including a head portion and a skirt portion, and a method for its production. The skirt portion has a metal wall and an opening area constructed and arranged to be broken during removal of the overcap. A sleeve of plastic material adheres to the metal wall over an area limited to the opening area.
Abstract: A constructional support including three tubes secured to a central support member with the tubes defining guides for drilling holes into the ground and for guiding anchor members as they are being driven into the holes to secure the support with respect to the ground. In one embodiment, the longitudinal axes of the tubes intersect at a point along the longitudinal axis of the central support member. In another embodiment, the longitudinal axes of the tubes each lie in a respective plane which is parallel to the longitudinal axis of the central support member.
Abstract: A process for treating an alumina monohydrate-based bauxite by high temperature caustic digestion includes the steps of introducing alumina trihydrate into the digested slurry at a temperature of less than 200° C., in order to obtain an aluminate liquor at atmospheric pressure having an alumina/caustic weight ratio between 1.20 and 1.30, and diluting the resultant aluminate liquor to result in a caustic concentration between 160 and 175 g Na2O/liter. After settling and filtration, the resulting supersaturated liquor undergoes a further dilution before or during a crystallization step. The alumina trihydrate product is filtered from the spent liquor, which is concentrated and recycled.
Abstract: An automatic dispenser capable of delivering accurate quantities of fodder and minimizing waste is disclosed, which dispenser includes a closing mechanism having a plate that scrapes against a wall of the dispenser as the closing mechanism is actuated to reduce the build-up of fodder on the wall of the dispenser.
Abstract: A tape dispensing box having a parallelepipedic form including first and second main faces, an output slot for the tape with a tape cutter, a removable holding device with a support for a reel of tape and a sheet of paper having information thereon held between a main face and the holding device when the holding device is inserted into the box.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for filling with powder a container having an interior and an opening to the interior that is closable by a lid. The method includes the steps of docking the opening in the container with a transfer apparatus including a powder-feed duct and dropping a coupling tube vertically downwardly through the duct to communicate with the interior of the container. The powder is passed vertically downwardly through said transfer apparatus downstream from the powder-feed duct through the coupling tube to said container, with the coupling tube serving to protect internal mechanical parts of said transfer apparatus. During the transfer, a low level of suction is maintained inside the transfer apparatus to avoid any accumulation of the powder and any release of the powder outside the apparatus.

Abstract: A recycling process for zinc-rich solid waste containing zinc oxide, Cu oxides and impurities normally present in brass, in which a mixture is formed containing the waste with a finely divided solid reducing agent and a binder, and the mixture is compacted as agglomerates with open pores. The agglomerates are added into a treatment reactor containing a bath of liquid copper or brass metal, in which the zinc and copper oxides are reduced, to obtain in the treatment reactor after the reduction, a new brass in liquid form and a new waste. The new liquid brass is transferred into a fusion and casting furnace, in which its composition is optionally adjusted, and the new liquid brass is cast to form a product. Any waste present in the treatment reactor and the casting furnace are recycled using this process.
Abstract: An intake manifold has a plurality of branch tubes each joined by brazing in a furnace at one end to a flange on the engine side and at the other end to a surge tank on the throttle chamber side. The surge tank is separated into two pieces or a brazing side member and a non-heating side member. Branch tubes are fixed in position relative to the brazing side member by peen locking with a peening tool or the like and are then joined to the brazing side member by brazing in the furnace. The non-heating side member is not subjected to the brazing in the furnace but is joined to the brazing side member by bolts or the like.
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for heat treatment of two-dimensional objects such as semiconductor wafers, for example in the form of silicon wafers, where the objects are arranged on supports and are conveyed through a heating unit, in particular continuously. To achieve a targeted treatment of a two-dimensional object, in particular of a semiconductor component such as a silicon wafer, on one side only, while at the same time achieving a high throughput with incorporation as necessary into a continuous overall manufacturing process, it is proposed that the objects be arranged in full surface contact with the supports, which cover the objects completely or almost completely on their underside and which in turn comprise quartz glass in particular.
