  • Patent number: 4828436
Abstract: A cutting-tool cartridge arrangement for rotary cutting-tools in which the cutting-tool cartridge assembly is mountable in a aperture provided in the body member of the cutting-tool. The cutting-tool cartridge assembly has a split bushing for insertion into the aperture in the body member of the tool and the bushing is annular in shape, has internal threads and has a slot in the wall thereof extending from the threaded inside surface to the outside surface to provide a pair of opposed surfaces resiliently movable towards and away from each other. A set screw aperture is provided in the body member of the tool into which a set screw may be inserted and tightened against the split bushing. The stud seat having external threads is threaded into the split bushing and the stud seat also has a cutting insert end having matching walls that match the wall configuration of the mounting walls of a frustum cutting insert.

  • Patent number: 4793553
Abstract: A system for automatically controlling heating and air conditioning equipment that make up the environmental control system in a building. The system measures heat flow into and out of the building by means of an infrared sensor mounted on an inner wall and directed toward an outer wall or window. In the winter the system logic monitors the ambient temperature and if sufficient heat flow is present to allow the incoming thermo energy to heat the internal environment to the desired set point, the system directs the shut off of the furnace. In summer the system logic decides when the heat flow has decreased to a point that the air conditioning equipment can be shut down. An adjustable time delay is response to heat flow is used to compensate for rapid changes in heat flow experienced during partially cloudy days.

  • Patent number: 4772453
Abstract: A high speed, luminescence detection arrangement for sequentially measuring the luminescence emitted from a plurality of luminescence sources under test. A tray holder contains a plurality of cup-like sample wells, from which the luminescent radiation is emitted, and each of the cup-like sample wells is sequentially positioned in a predetermined location to allow the detection and measurement of the intensity of the luminescence emitted therefrom. Display means are provided to provide a detectible display, having a magnitude proportional to the intensity of the luminescence detected. Fluid dispensing means are operatively interconnected to allow injection of one or more fluids into each of the cup-like sample wells at a predetermined time before measurement of the luminescence emitted therefrom.

  • Patent number: 4770322
Abstract: A stamp dispensing arrangement for dispensing stamps, such as postage stamps, one at a time from a roll of such stamps. The dispensing arrangement has a unitary body comprised of a base and a cover hingedly interconnected for relative pivotal movement therebetween from a closed to an open position. A roll of stamps is contained within a cavity defined in a stamp storage portion of the body and the stamps extend outwardly between spaced apart planer surfaces of the cover and the base at a dispensing end. First fingers with stamp engaging tabs thereon are positioned in an aperture in the planer wall of the base and are adapted to engage the stamps in the perforations thereof to prevent movement of the stamps in a first direction which is opposite to the second or dispensing direction.

  • Patent number: 4768232
Abstract: A combination baseball cap and baseball glove forming an object-catching head covering. A mitt is attached to the crown of the cap preferably above the brim. The mitt can be in the shape of a rectangle, mitten or glove and fabricated from the same material used in making the cap, or from elastic material. An opening along the edge of the mitt is provided above the brim. The opening and the mitt are sized to allow the user to insert one hand into the opening to be held between the mitt and the crown. An elastic band may be attached to the mitt along the edge of the opening to aid in holding the cap in place on the hand. A logo can be place on the outside of the mitt. Padding may be used to further protect the user's hand while catching objects. The padding can be a flat sheet of energy absorbing material or may be shaped to approximate the function of a baseball glove.

  • Patent number: 4763933
Abstract: An improved latching arrangement for selectively latching two members together to prevent relative movement there between in first directions. The two members may, for example, be the fixed and sliding windows of a sliding window. The improved latch means of the latching arrangement of the present invention is pivotally mounted on the moving member and is resiliently biased towards the fixed member. The latch means has a lip means that is engagable with a shoulder means on the fixed member when the latch means is in the latched position. The latch means is pivotally moveable away from the fixed member so that the lip clears the shoulder to allow relative movement of the sliding member with respect to the fixed member. The latch means is also provided with a swivel cam extending outwardly from the latch means into a channel in the second member in a locking condition thereof.
