Abstract: A configurable furniture integrated lighting system has a plurality of interchangeable symmetric and asymmetric fixture heads for indirect lighting and a plurality of different supporting structures for supporting any one of the fixture heads at a predetermined mounting height from a variety of different support surfaces associated with the furniture system, including floor level support surfaces, desk top surfaces, book shelf surfaces, and binder bins. The described invention can be mounted virtually anywhere along the partition walls of almost any open office arrangement, with different alignments with respect to the walls being possible. Free-standing fixtures can additionally be placed as required to achieve an optimum ambient lighting distribution.
Abstract: A loudspeaker horn for use with an acoustical driver has a rectangular throat opening with a long dimension relative to the wavelength of the sound pressure waves generated within the high frequency range of the horn. A relatively short pre-load chamber corrects the phase of the sound pressure waves over the long dimension of the throat opening. The pre-load chamber provides control over the directivity of the horn and provides a uniform frequency response with minimal distortion.

Abstract: A direct-indirect luminaire is provided with a direct light control structure between the luminaire's light source and the down light openings in the luminaire's housing. The down light control structure has an interior light capture which extends to meet the light source and which is shaped to substantially conform to the shape of a capturable surface of the light source. The down light control structure captures and directs substantially all of the light emitted from the captured portion of the light source through the housing's down light opening to provide improved control over the down light component of the luminaire.
Abstract: A merchandise display case has vertically arranged compartments in a cabinet for providing a storage area and a display area, and a gang lock unit which simultaneously locks a bank of drawers in the storage area and cabinet doors covering the display area. The gang lock unit includes a rigid, vertical gang bar which carries the locking means for both the cabinet doors and the bank of drawers and which is moved between its locking position and unlocking position by means of a single accessible locking mechanism. The gang bar preferably has a rectangular or square cross-sectional shape that prevents flexure in any direction and that contributes to the smooth locking action of the gang lock unit.
Abstract: A skin test applicator has a applicator handle (21) and separately storable test elements (13). A complimentary snap-fit attachment structure (33, 43) is provided on the applicator handle and test elements to permit the applicator handle to operatively pick up and hold one or more test elements from a suitable sterile storage tray. The skin test applicator reduces storage requirements and the amount of refuse that must be discarded immediately following the administration of a skin test for the diagnosis of an allergic response or other diagnostic test.

Abstract: An improved system for sealing a slot (37) in the guideway (13) of a pneumatic transportation system includes two separate pairs of sealing flaps for producing two separate opposed seal interfaces (47, 49) through which a travelling pylon (18) connecting a propulsion plate (17) to a vehicle (15) on the guideway can pass. A first pair of sealing flaps (43a, 43b) provides a negative pressure seal and a second pair of sealing flaps (49a, 49b) provides a positive pressure seal. The sealing flaps contact the travelling pylons along their distal ends only, so as to produce minimum deflection of the seal and minimum mechanical resistance against the pylon. The slot seal system of the invention is relatively easy to install from outside the vehicle guideway and produces no cavities in the top of the guideway in which moisture and debris can accumulate.

Abstract: An improved rotor assembly for a horizontal impact crusher has segmented blow bars in a continuous wedge structure which overlaps the blow bar segment joints to structurally tie the blow bar segments together. Backer face plates are also provided to accommodate blow bars of different thicknesses within the same wedge slot.
