  • Patent number: 8264673
Abstract: Two charge quantities (Q1,Q2) are output from respective pixels P (m,n) of the back-illuminated distance measuring sensor 1 as signals d?(m,n) having the distance information. Since the respective pixels P (m,n) output signals d?(m,n) responsive to the distance to an object H as micro distance measuring sensors, a distance image of the object can be obtained as an aggregate of distance information to respective points on the object H if reflection light from the object H is imaged on the pickup area 1B. If carriers generated at a deep portion in the semiconductor in response to incidence of near-infrared light for projection are led in a potential well provided in the vicinity of the carrier-generated position opposed to the light incident surface side, high-speed and accurate distance measurement is enabled.

  • Patent number: 8263479
Abstract: Multiphoton absorption is generated, so as to form a part which is intended to be cut 9 due to a molten processed region 13 within a silicon wafer 11, and then an adhesive sheet 20 bonded to the silicon wafer 11 is expanded. This cuts the silicon wafer 11 along the part which is intended to be cut 9 with a high precision into semiconductor chips 25. Here, opposing cut sections 25a, 25a of neighboring semiconductor chips 25, 25 are separated from each other from their close contact state, whereby a die-bonding resin layer 23 is also cut along the part which is intended to be cut 9. Therefore, the silicon wafer 11 and die-bonding resin layer 23 can be cut much more efficiently than in the case where the silicon wafer 11 and die-bonding resin layer 23 are cut with a blade without cutting a base 21.

  • Patent number: 8256918
Abstract: A tubular luminaire efficiently utilizes the light of a line of high-brightness unlensed LEDs to reproduce the homogeneous appearance of a neon tube. The transparent tube has an annular cross-section suitable for cost-effective manufacturing by extrusion. The LEDs are mounted in a line on a circuit board that can be positioned either inside or outside the tube. Their light shines into a cylindrical groove, thereby entering within the material of the tube. Above the groove, the wall of the tube has a spiral shape that reflects the light laterally so that it stays within the annular tube for a considerable path length. Volume scattering by a low density of scattering inclusions causes the light to escape as a homogenous glow. Alternatively, mild surface scattering from the inside surface can be used.

  • Patent number: 8259595
Abstract: Each of the host transmitting/receiving blocks of a plurality of I/O units connected to a CNC reads the destination specification data and a diagnostic result bit each time the host transmitting/receiving block receives a signal packet from the CNC. When the diagnostic result bit indicates the execution of a diagnosis, the signal packet contains diagnostic DO data, and the relevant DO signal output terminal is short-circuited to the relevant DI signal input terminal to form a diagnostic loop. The diagnostic packet signal passes through the diagnostic loop, the external signal transmitting/receiving block, and the host transmitting/receiving block and returns to the CNC through the host transmitting/receiving block of an adjacent I/O unit closer to the CNC. The CNC analyzes the packet signal to determine whether each of the I/O units is operating normally or not.
