  • Patent number: 6976316
Abstract: An inspection tool for measuring the true of metal door frames uses a plumb bob. The plumb bob is suspended from a holder which may be attached to a door frame by magnets in the body of the holder. The relationship of the holder dimensions models the relationship of the dimensions of a metal door frame. The point indicated by the plumb bob will have the same dimensions from the door frame if the frame is true. If the frame is not true, the point will have different measurements.

  • Patent number: 6053702
Abstract: A booster water pump for increasing source water pressure to a high water pressure for industrial use, has an elongated tubular hollow cylinder having both ends closed with a cylinder inlet port in one end, and a cylinder outlet port to permit the cylinder to be filled with source water. The pump has a submersible motor and hydroturbine pumping unit so articulated that turbine impellers are adjacent the motor and a turbine outlet is away from the motor, the motor-pump unit fitting in the tubular cylinder. The water passageway is annular and the turbine outlet is attached inside the cylinder to the cylinder outlet port. The pump is highly portable and effective to provide high pressure water to remote locations from low pressure sources.

  • Patent number: 5717179
Abstract: A combination switch and socket is provided that can be easily installed without rewiring an existing fixture to give the user a closet light that automatically turns on when the closet door is opened and turns off when the door is closed. The socket can be screwed into an existing light fixture and the switch can be mounted near the door by merely attaching a bracket adjacent the door. Then, wires connecting the socket and switch can be placed where desired and even attached along the ceiling out of the way in a conventional conduit.

  • Patent number: 5679437
Abstract: A peelable roadway marking tape has a multi-layer structure which provides durability and ease of removal. The marking tape includes a top layer of pigmented vinyl paint with reflective glass beads incorporated therein applied to an intermediate backing layer of either aluminum or vinyl. The backing layer is then laminated to a polyester mesh reinforcement layer, and a pressure-sensitive adhesive hot melt is applied to the under side surface of the mesh for attachment to the roadway surface. In an alternate embodiment of the invention, a layer of high density polyethylene is laminated between the mesh layer and an aluminum backing layer.

  • Patent number: 5674648
Abstract: A light absorbing medium to be interposed under photosensitive layers, such as a photo-resist for integrated circuit "chips" to eliminate defects caused by reflected light, has a polymer vehicle which can penetrate into small depressions of a substrate and form a thin, smooth and uniform coating. The coating includes a light absorbing dye. This light absorbing layer is imageable in the process. The light absorbing material eliminates many of the defects caused by reflected light resulting in increased sharpness of the images in the photo-resist. The material reduces the losses due to defects and increases the yield of useable product.

  • Patent number: 5650329
Abstract: Safety apparel for use in harardous environments has an indicating material incorporated in the surface of the apparel. On exposure to hazardous materials, such as acids and bases, the surface changes color to indicate exposure and provide a warning. Further, a material and method is provided to treat surfaces to indicate exposure to hazardous materials. The treated surfaces may exhibit reversibility effective to indicate exposure over repetitive cycles.

  • Patent number: 5630675
Abstract: An improved two-piece, detachable traffic device features a high-density, low-profile solid base. The base is, preferably, made of a molded unitary composition made of recycled rubber products, such as, spent motor vehicle tires. Further, it is molded such that it can be stacked for ease of storage with similar bases. The combined high-density and low profile flexible aspects of the base cooperate to ensure both that the base remains stationary during use and can easily be traveled over by a vehicle without damage resulting to the base or the vehicle. The mass of the base is concentrated at the periphery of the base to maximize the self-righting effect of the base while minimizing the over all weight of the base and material required.

  • Patent number: 5595140
Abstract: A livestock feeder with the capability of removing the end walls and folding the side walls inwards. The livestock feeder has hinged side rails allowing them to be folded inwards. The livestock feeder also has a bottom bed that is not affected by weather and can be easily replaced. A removable polyethylene floor increases the life of the livestock feeder. When the end walls are removed and the side walls are folded, the feeder has a compact shape permitting efficient shipping by conventional transportation means.

  • Patent number: 5533206
Abstract: Within a welding helmet, an easily removable electronic quick change ("EQC") cartridge is retained into an integral cartridge housing. The EQC cartridge has slots on its top which can accommodate flanges from the housing, and tabs on its sides for insertion into slots of the housing. The tabs are located on the ends of an elastic spring bar which is inside the EQC cartridge. Switches connected to the spring bar by an elevated support lie above the EQC cartridge, which when compressed internalize the tabs inside the cartridge. When the EQC cartridge is positioned within the housing, the switches are released and the tabs extend through the slots of the housing.

  • Patent number: 5532767
Abstract: A safety spectacle providing front and lateral impact protection. The spectacle includes a frame, a removable lens incorporating integrated upper and lower side shields connected to the frame by means of a nose bridge, and a pair of length and pantoscopic adjustable temples arm assemblies hingedly connected to the sides of the frames. The temple arm assemblies are adjustable lengthwise by earpieces which can be locked and unlocked into slots on an intermediate arm receptacle by means of a quarter turn barrel configuration. The temples are adjustable pantoscopically by means of a pair of semicircular arms, both of which are hinged at the front to the side of the frame between a pair of outward sloping walls and inserted at the rear into a threaded ferrule. One arm is threaded inside the ferrule and allowed to move in and out when the ferrule is rotated while the mating semicircular arm is stationary, thereby varying the angle of the temple within the sloped walls and thus the frame.
