  • Patent number: 7605914
Abstract: An optical system has at least two optical elements whose spatial relation with respect to each other can be changed. At least one of the optical elements comprises a plurality of optical components. The optical system comprises first measuring means for individually measuring an image defect of each optical component, and first computing means for computing first target positions for the plurality of optical components such that an overall image defect of the at least one of the optical elements is below a predetermined threshold value. Second measuring means are provided for measuring an overall image defect of the optical system, and second computing means represent the measured overall image defect as a linear combination of base functions of an orthogonal function set. The second computing means calculate second target position for the at least two optical elements so as to reduce the overall image defect.

  • Patent number: 7575186
Abstract: A comminution machine for waste includes a rotor that carries blade elements and cooperates with counter-blades, which are fixed to the housing. The rotor is driven by a synchronous motor that is excited by a controllable frequency converter. In order to keep the connected power of the comminution machine small and nevertheless be able to apply a large torque to the rotor, the synchronous motor acts upon the rotor via a reduction gearing and a clutch.

  • Patent number: 7565965
Abstract: A set of roller conveyors is described, the members of which include a plurality of driven rollers disposed in two parallel tracks. Each member of the set has at least one electric feed-in block, which is connectable to the locally available system voltage and from this generates an output voltage, which is the same for all members of the set and is lower than or equal to the lowest system voltage, for which a member of the set is designed. The drive motors of the driven rollers are in this case designed for the output voltage of the feed-in block. In this way, the manufacturer of the roller conveyors may carry out the design, warehousing, and assembly of a roller conveyor independently of the different system voltages available from site to site and in this way may considerably reduce the costs associated therewith.

  • Patent number: 7565770
Abstract: A sliding door for selectively opening and closing an opening is disclosed. The door is comprised of a door panel having a top, a bottom, a leading edge and a trailing edge. The door panel translates laterally relative to the opening between a closed position and an open position. The door has a guide, a guide follower, and a reset member. The guide is mounted to a mounting surface located between the upper and lower extent of the opening, and comprises a first end disposed proximate the opening and a second end opposite the first end. The guide follower is attached to the door panel and disposed in operable engagement with the guide. The reset member is disposed proximate the second end of the guide. The reset member has a surface that is angularly oriented to facilitate operable engagement and alignment of the guide follower with the guide.

  • Patent number: 7541162
Abstract: The invention provides a virus harboring a DNA encoding a subunit of limulus-derived factor G, the virus being capable of mass-producing a (1?3)-?-D-glucan assay reagent of satisfactory quality, steadily and at low cost, a cell harboring the virus, and a method of producing factor G by use of the cell.

  • Patent number: 7540373
Abstract: The invention relates to a surface treating installation, especially for treating plastic parts or automotive bodies, which includes a transfer station for vertically or horizontally transferring an object. The transfer station comprises a stationary support structure, a carriage which can travel in relation to the support structure and receives an object, and at least one guide roller via which the carriage is supported on the support structure. The at least one guide roller has a rolling surface which contacts the support structure when rolling off. The invention is characterized in that the rolling surface of the at least one guide roller consists of an antistatic material whose volume resistivity ranges between 10 ?m and 109 ?m. The invention allows to counteract the deposition of dirt particles on the guide rollers and on the mating surfaces, thereby reducing time and/or costs required for cleaning the transfer station or for post-processing the objects.

  • Patent number: 7533769
Abstract: A system and method is described for treating workpieces, in particular vehicle wheels, especially in the context of a powder coating process, with a conveying device that guides the workpieces along a movement path through the arrangement. The conveying device comprises a conveyor. The workpieces can be arranged on spindle-shaped elements that are secured to the conveyor and that are rotatable about their own axis. The conveyor device comprises at least one means for generating a spatially and/or temporally altering magnetic field, which produces a force to rotate or stop the spindle-shaped elements.

  • Patent number: 7522745
Abstract: A system is disclosed having a camera, a processor, and a user interface. The camera transmits image data responsive to a scene within a field of view. In response to the image data, the processor indicates whether a condition has been satisfied. The user interface is operably connected to the processor and allows a user to select criteria for detection of objects, for indicating criteria selected, and for providing visual confirmation that an object has been detected.
