  • Patent number: 7482907
Abstract: An electronic lock utilizes two microprocessors remote from each other for enhanced security. The first microprocessor is disposed close to an input device such as a keypad, and the second microprocessor is disposed close to the lock mechanism and well protected from external access. The first microprocessor transmits a communication code to the second microprocessor when it receives via the input device an access code that matches a preset access code. The second microprocessor opens the lock if the transmitted communication code matches a preset communication code. The dual-microprocessor arrangement is advantageously used in a voice controlled access control system and in a motorcycle ignition control system. The present invention further provides an electronic access control system which has a master electronic key having a preset number of access, and an electronic alarm system for a bicycle that has a remote control mounted in the helmet of the rider.

  • Patent number: 7452856
Abstract: The present invention provides a novel peptide based on CAP11 as well as provides an antibacterial agent, an LPS-cell-binding inhibitor, and a drug such as a bacterial-infection-treating agent or an endotoxin-shock suppressant, each containing the peptide as an active ingredient. The peptide has the following amino acid sequence (SEQ ID NO: 1): X01 X02 X03 X03 X04 X02 X03 X03 X05 X04 X03 X04 X02 X01 X03 X02 X05 X03 (wherein X01 represents a cationic amino acid residue or a polar uncharged amino acid residue, X02 represents a non-polar amino acid residue, X03 represents a cationic amino acid residue, X04 represents a non-polar amino acid residue or a cationic amino acid residue, and X05 represents a non-polar amino acid residue or a polar uncharged amino acid residue). Each of the antibacterial agent, lipopolysaccharide-cell-binding inhibitor, and drug (e.g., bacterial-infection-treating agent or endotoxin-shock suppressant) contains the peptide as an active ingredient.

  • Patent number: 7413644
Abstract: An installation for the cataphoretic dip coating of articles, in particular of vehicle bodies, comprises in known manner a dip tank, into which the articles can be immersed. The negative terminal of a coating voltage source can be connected with the immersed articles; the positive terminal of the voltage source is connected with at least one anode immersed in the coating liquid present in the dip tank. This anode has a cross-sectional profile which, in at least one portion, is adapted as a curved surface to the outline of the articles to be treated in such a manner that the anode follows the outline of said article in approximately parallel manner. This is made possible by the electrodialysis apparatus, by means of which the acid formed during the coating operation is removed from the coating liquid and which is necessary for such installations, being arranged outside the dip tank.

  • Patent number: 7404859
Abstract: The invention relates to an installation for coating objects, said installation having, in a manner known per se, a coating chamber which is arranged upstream from a drying chamber. The objects to be coated are carried by skids which are guided through the coating chamber and the drying chamber by means of a skid transport system. Each skid comprises two skid runners, extending parallel to the direction of displacement, and is embodied in such a way that adjacent skids can travel inside each other such that they partially overlap in the direction of displacement. In this way, the objects carried by successive skids can be separated from each other in the coating chamber such that all of the surfaces of the objects to be coated can be easily reached by the application devices.

  • Patent number: 7405808
Abstract: An optical system, particularly an illumination system, of a microlithographic projection exposure apparatus contains at least one plane reflecting surface for folding the beam path. The at least one reflecting surface is arranged with respect to an optical axis of the optical system such that the intensity ratio between two mutually perpendicular polarization directions is at least substantially preserved for an axially parallel light ray deviated by the at least one reflecting surface. In accordance with a second aspect, the at least one reflecting surface is arranged such that a maximum effect on the polarization of the projection light is achieved, so as to be able to compensate for polarization dependencies which occur in other components of the illumination system.

  • Patent number: 7399362
Abstract: An installation for powder coating articles, in particular vehicle bodies, comprises a coating booth, in which a plurality of application devices for the powder coating may be arranged. The articles to be coated are located during the coating process on a rotating rotary stand. Application devices located in various angular positions relative to the axis of the rotary stand may be charged with powder coatings of different colours. A collecting hopper is located at the bottom of the coating booth, the outlet opening of which collecting hopper may be brought as desired into connection with various recovery devices for powder overspray. To coat articles of different colours, the application devices charged with powder coating of the appropriate colour are activated in each case and the recovery device which collects the powder of the corresponding colour is brought into connection with the outlet opening of the collecting hopper.
