  • Patent number: 6610405
Abstract: A grain aggregate is formed by bonding a plurality of cross-linking polymeric grains via a substance (binder) having a reactive functional group, and alternatively, the grain aggregate is formed by bonding at least two different types of a plurality of grains, thus providing the grain aggregate having the improved heat resistance, solvent resistance, strength and light-diffusing properties. Further, a light-diffusing agent made up of the grain aggregate has the improved light-diffusing properties. Therefore, when applying a light-diffusing mold article including the light-diffusing agent to, for example, a backlight of a liquid crystal display device, high brightness and a wide angle of visibility can be attained. Further, by spray drying of a dispersion liquid containing the grain aggregate, the grain aggregate can be produced with ease.

  • Patent number: 6585388
Abstract: A ball pen including a light emitting device is provided. In the ball pen, a light emitting diode (LED) is enclosed in a figurine attached to the end of the ball pen and two electric wires are connected to the LED. One of the wires is connected to one electrode of a battery and the other is in contact with a cone-shaped spring positioned at the lower portion of the battery. The cone of the cone-shaped spring is pushed up by an ink cartridge, making the cone-shaped spring come into contact with one electrode of the battery, so that an electric current flows through a circuit including the battery and the LED, thereby illuminating the LED. A stick is firmly engaged with the push button member and thus, the push button member is pushed to make inclined surfaces of a cylinder-rotation sawtooth and an inclined protruding stopper, which are formed in a rotational cylinder, glide along the inclined surfaces of the cylinder-rotation side protrusions, thereby rotating the rotational cylinder.

  • Patent number: 6552741
Abstract: An optical scanning device which performs an exposing operation with respect to a photosensitive material such as a printing sheet, etc., by scanning with laser beams in respective colors modulated according to image data is arranged so as to modulate light beams in respective colors projected from respective light sources of a red LD, a green-color SHG laser unit and a blue-color SHG laser unit by AOMs according to image data. Then, the clock frequency control section adjusts an exposure scanning clock for each of the AOM drivers for driving these AOMs individually. It is therefore possible to suppress an aberration in color caused by a shift in light beams in respective colors which are to be projected onto the same target position.

  • Patent number: 6509488
Abstract: In a method for purifying a fluoroaryl metal compound of the present invention, magnesium halide is precipitated and removed from a solution containing the fluoroaryl metal compound, the magnesium halide, and an ether solvent. Or, the magnesium halide is removed by treating the solution with an acid. Examples of the method include: a method in which a solvent which has a boiling point higher than that of the ether solvent contained in the solution and which does not dissolve the magnesium halide is heated to a temperature higher than the boiling point of the ether solvent, then the ether solvent is distilled out with the solution being added to the solvent; and a method in which the solution and an aqueous solution containing an acid are mixed and stirred, then allowed to stand so as to be separated into an organic layer containing the fluoroaryl metal compound and an aqueous layer containing the magnesium halide and the acid.
