Abstract: A disposable article for light cleaning of hard surfaces comprises a non-woven substrate, preferably of cellulosic or cellulose-containing material, carrying an aqueous cleaning composition loaded onto the substrate at a level less than about 75%, preferably less than 50%, of its maximum absorbence capacity. The aqueous composition comprises one or more nonionic surfactants, one or more anionic surfactnats or a mixture of nonionic and anionic surfactants, a water miscible solvent for oils, (preferably a low molecular weight alcohol), and an alkalinity agent such as ammonium hydroxide in sufficient amount to maintain the pH of the extracted solution within the range of 8 to 12.

Abstract: Compounds of the formula ##STR1## are described in which R.sub.1 represents a perfluoroalkyl radical of from 1 to 2 carbon atoms, and at least one of R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 represents hydrogen, and the other, or both represent lower alkyl, and R.sub.4 represents a lower alkyl radical which may be unsubstituted or bear certain substitution, and which are useful as herbicides in a method for controlling weeds and wild grasses. Compositions containing such compounds are also described. Finally, novel fluoro-thio semicarbazides are described which are useful intermediates in the production of the compounds of Formula I.

Abstract: A device for permitting controlled emission of a volatile substance, in particular an air-treating agent. The device comprises a container having an annular ledge with two recesses on opposite sides and a frustro hemispherical hood open at the top, that fits on to the container. The hood has two studs protruding on opposite sides of its inner wall. Inside the hood are situated two shutters that are moveable in relation to each other on relative rotation between the container and the hood by means of slots, which are moved by the studs, to close or open the opening to an infinitely variable degree.

Abstract: N-Arylsulfonyl-N'-(4-mercaptomethyl-pyrimidinyl- and -triazinyl)-ureas of the formula ##STR1## (symbols in this formula defined below) and the salts of these compounds with amines, alkali metal bases or alkaline-earth metal bases or with ammonium bases, have good pre- and post-emergence-selective, herbicidal and growth-regulating properties.

Abstract: The invention relates to 5-(pyridyl-2'-oxy)-2-nitrobenzoic acid derivatives of the formula ##STR1## wherein A is the cyano group, the carboxyl group or a salt, an ester, a thioester or an amide thereof, X is halogen or a halomethyl group, Y is hydrogen, halogen or a halomethyl group. These compounds have herbicidal properties and are suitable for selectively controlling weeds in crops of useful plants, especially in soybeans, cereals and rice crops.

Abstract: The invention relates to novel oxime derivatives of diphenyl ethers of the formula ##STR1## wherein R is hydrogen or halogen or a nitro or cyano group and Q is a straight-chain or branched C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkylene bridge.These compounds have good selective herbicidal action, they inhibit plant growth, and can be employed as safeners for protecting cultivated plants from the phytotoxic action of certain herbicides.

Abstract: Novel oxime ethers and oxime esters of the formula I given herein have various advantageous effects with regard to stimulation of plant growth, particularly in the early stage of development of the plant. Furthermore, such compounds have the property of rendering, in the sense of an antidote action, agricultural chemicals which would otherwise damage the plants (phytotoxic chemicals) more compatible with the cultivated plants. Herbicides that are insufficiently selective can be used for example in the presence of such oxime derivatives in specific cultivated crops for combating weeds, without disadvantageous consequences for the cultivated plants.

Abstract: The present invention embodies an upright cylindrical element or peg on the horizontal flange of a tray which is received in snap, reversible locking engagement within the closed bore of a cylindrical female element provided in a corresponding location on the horizontal flange on a lid so that the lid and tray can be firmly and securely locked together. The male and female elements are formed during the thermoforming process used to form the lid and tray wherein the peg or male snap part is provided with an enlarged diameter portion at its closed top end or head which is received in snap engagement past a smaller diameter annular rim formed in the opening to the bore of the female cylindrical element. The female element also includes a side wall which is tapered from bottom to top for receiving the head of the peg or mating cylindrical male element which snaps over and past the annular rim.

Abstract: This invention relates to an improvement in the method of manufacturing alate medical needles. The base part of a needle is inserted into a thermoplastic resin tube and the inserted portion is set in a wing-forming mold. The thermoplastic resin is heated to mold wings integral with the tube. Since the molding of the wings and their connection to the tube can be accomplished simultaneously, this method enables high-speed continuous manufacture which is impossible with conventional methods. Heating of the thermoplastic resin is preferably conducted by high-frequency dielectric heating.

Abstract: This invention relates to 1-benzoylhalomethyl-imidazole compounds and processes for their production.The 1-benzoylhalomethylimidazole compounds are represented by the following formula: ##STR1## wherein R is a hydrogen atom or a lower alkyl group, X is a halogen atom and X' is a hydrogen atom or a halogen atom. They are very useful as antifungal agents, insect attractants and the like.
