  • Patent number: 7096913
Abstract: An apparatus and a method for moving frameworks such as window frames or sashes from a plastic frame welding machine to a work station for further processing of the frameworks are disclosed. Two tracks are mounted at an elevated position so they extend horizontally from the welding machine to the workstation and an arm assembly is mounted for movement along each track. Preferably each arm assembly has gripping devices arranged one above the other each capable of releasably engaging and gripping one of the frameworks. An actuator is provided to move each arm assembly along its track from a position where the arm assembly can engage the frameworks when they are in the welding machine and then move them to a position where the grippers can grip the frameworks at the workstation.

  • Patent number: 6886186
Abstract: The present invention provides a safety device for use with a sports helmet as a means of reducing neck and spinal cord injuries that are common to contact sports. The preferred embodiment of the inventive device is intended for use with a sports safety helmet. The device comprises an elastic cord having a fastening member at a first end that engages a complementary fastening member disposed on the safety helmet. A second end of the elastic cord attaches to an adjustable strap that attaches to a belt disposed on the body of a user. In operation, the device provides resistance to the user's ability to hold his head in a lowered position. It is appreciated that holding the head in an upright position reduces the risk of accidental neck and/or spinal cord injury due to collisions.

  • Patent number: 6561103
Abstract: A pallet conveyor system includes a rail assembly and a pallet assembly. The rail assembly including parallel and spaced-apart rail supports that each has a cylindrical rail disposed thereon. An intermediate support is positioned between the rails and includes a removable stop bar. The pallet assembly engages the rails and is adapted for forward or reverse motion along the rails. A first and second sensor are secured to the pallet assembly and adapted to detect the stop bar as the pallet moves along the rails. When the first sensor detects the stop bar, the pallet assembly is slowed. Thereafter, as the second sensor detects the stop bar, the pallet assembly is stopped. Therefore, by simple movement of the stop bar, a pallet assembly may be easily and precisely positioned at any location along, a conveyor line without the need to reprogram the pallet assembly.

  • Patent number: 6517897
Abstract: There is disclosed herein a method for manufacturing a solid surface article from a composition of a thermosetting resin, a polymerizable vinyl material, an air release agent and a wetting agent together with sufficient amounts of a thixotropic agent to give the composition a thixotropic index of at least 4.5, as well as a solid, particulate material having a particle size of up to 0.1 inch. The composition is coated into a mold and cured to produce a hardened solid surface article. Also disclosed is a compression molding process for applying a backing material to the article.
