  • Patent number: 7401454
Abstract: A method of customizing a saddle to fit the back of a particular horse by using shims of various shapes and sizes between the underside of the saddle and pad. These shims are attached to the underside of the saddle and to the pad by a hook and loop fastening system. Different types molding or rebounding pads may be used. The rebounding pads are useful to allow the interchange of saddles between different horses while achieving a perfect fit on each horse.

  • Patent number: 7303519
Abstract: A folding and gluing machine is provided for converting a corrugated blank into a panel having at least two parallel struts formed from the blank. The machine forms the struts by having compression chains on each side that exert pressure on the sides of the blank so that struts are formed along weaken lines that have been formed in the blank by a slitter. The struts are formed along an L shaped anvil which has creasing rollers to start the formation of the struts. Each strut is composed of two legs which are glued together. The slitter may be incorporated as a part of the folding and gluing machine.

  • Patent number: 7229107
Abstract: The security seal for cargo containers and freight trailers which has a gas cartridge which supplies gas through a two position valve when it is opened and onto a two way valve which in the activated position supplies gas under pressure to a pressure hose looped around the locking bar or bars of a container or trailer. This gas pressure hose holds the two way valve in the activated position so that gas is supplied to the pressure hose. If the pressure hose is broken or disconnected, pressure means move the two way valve to the security breached position allowing gas to go into an ink reservoir which releases the ink onto the container leaving a permanent identified mark. The two position valve can be deactivated by means to move the valve. This valve can be moved into the deactivated position by a magnet. This security seal can also be deactivated by supplying gas under pressure from an external source to hold the two way valve in the activated position which will allow the pressure hose to be disconnected.

  • Patent number: 7155907
Abstract: An electro-hydraulic system for operating a cooling fan and providing hydraulic fluid to a power steering system of the vehicle includes a hydraulic pump unit including first and second fixed displacement pumps and a common drive shaft for these pumps. A hydraulic fluid reservoir is connected to the inlet of each of the pumps. A priority valve is operatively connected to the outlet of the first pump and has an outlet connectible to the power steering system. This valve also has a second outlet connectible to a hydraulic motor for the cooling fan. This valve is arranged to provide a constant flow of hydraulic fluid to the power steering system. A hydraulic line connects an outlet of the second pump to the hydraulic motor. Hydraulic fluid flow through this line is combined with hydraulic fluid flow from the first pump to drive the motor.

  • Patent number: 7110778
Abstract: The systems and methods disclosed herein relate to digital data communication systems, and more particularly, the systems and methods relate to systems and methods for facilitating digital communication between a modem equipped meter and a central data acquisition system. In one example, the system has the central data acquisition system, a first telemetry device that utilizes a modem for data communication, and a second telemetry device with a processor for communicating with the first telemetry device, and a digital cellular radio for communicating with the processor. The processor relays digital meter data from the first telemetry device to the digital cellular radio and the digital cellular radio transmits the digital meter data to the central data acquisition system. This system allows the utility company to transmit the reading of utility consumption by a consumer without the use of telephone lines.

  • Patent number: 6448621
Abstract: A novel technology for sensing mechanical quantities such as force, stress, strain, pressure and acceleration has been invented. This technology is based on a change in the electrochemically generated voltage (electromotive force) with application of force, stress, strain, pressure or acceleration. The change in the voltage is due to a change in the internal resistance of the electrochemical cell with a change in the relative position or orientation of the electrodes (anode and cathode) in the cell. The signal to be detected (e.g. force, stress, strain, pressure or acceleration) is applied to one of the electrodes to cause a change in the relative position or orientation between the electrodes. Various materials, solid, semisolid, gel, paste or liquid can be utilized as the electrolyte. The electrolyte must be an ion conductor. The examples of solid electrolytes include specific polymer conductors, polymer composites, ion conducting glasses and ceramics.

  • Patent number: 6280825
Abstract: Composites of paper and bioriented polyester plastic film are made by passing a web of paperboard and a web of plastic film, with a layer of extruded molten polymer impregnating and bonding agent between the webs, through a nip. The process involves controlling one or more of the speed of the webs, the temperature of the molten polymer, the pressure or spacing of the rolls at the nip, and the rate of extrusion, relative to the porosity and surface characteristics of the paper web such that a portion of the molten polymer impregnates partially into and becomes part of the paper web and a substantial portion lies outwardly of the surface of the paper web and solidifies to form a new surface to which the film is bonded and which it is supported clear of the paper surface. The molten polymer may be polyethylene or an ethylene acrylic acid copolymer. These composites are useful in forming corrugated structures which may be used for baking in convection ovens.

  • Patent number: 6206761
Abstract: A device for grinding the bedknife 6 of a lawnmower comprising a mounting bar 4, electromagnets 2 which are mounted flush with the top face of mounting bar, and end brackets 8. In use, the bedknife is placed on mounting bar and is held in place by electromagnets while end brackets are positioned relative to the bedknife and the bedknife secured to them. When a grindstone motor (not shown) is started, the electromagnets are automatically de-energized. After grinding, the grindstone motor is stopped and electromagnets are re-energized to hold a bedknife in place while the end brackets are detached. The electromagnets are then manually de-energized so that the bedknife can be removed from the device.

  • Patent number: 6186931
Abstract: The present invention provides an apparatus that can erect a tray from a generally flat, rectangular blank. The tray erector incorporates an inventory section, a transfer section, a construction section and an exit section. The inventory section has a hopper with flanges and tab stops, which hopper stores an inventory of stacked, flat blanks that will eventually become the trays. In the transfer section, a blank is transferred from the inventory section to the construction section of the present erector. The construction section includes a setup assembly and a locking assembly. The setup assembly folds the pre-cut and scored end and side panels of the tray blank up into approximately perpendicular planes in relation to the plane of the bottom panel of the blank. The end and side panels are folded up from the plane of the bottom panel of the blank in preparation for the locking of the corner webs.
