A spit for supporting food is rotatably connected to the housing and receives heat generated from the fire in the fireplace. The spit may include at least three driven shoulders disposed substantially equidistant from one another around the periphery of the spit. Driving apparatus is connected to the housing for rotating the spit and has a drive member rotatably connected to the housing. The driving member may include at least four driving shoulders disposed substantially equidistant from one another to engage the driven shoulders on the spit so that the spit rotates more than one complete revolution every time the drive member is rotated. The housing may include a reclamation trap disposed beneath the spit to recover the juices produced when cooking the food on the spit. The driving member may include an axle rod and elongated slats having a length sufficient to allow large food items to be mounted to the spits.

Abstract: A device for providing light along a runway or taxiway at an airport. A base receptacle is adapted to be positioned along the runway and has an open end. A sleeve member is movably received within the base receptacle and has a sleeve member passageway. Replaceable light fixture connecting apparatus is used to connect a light fixture to the sleeve member. Sleeve member connecting apparatus selectively connects the sleeve member to the base receptacle at varying positions.

Abstract: An oven for baking a food product. The oven comprises a stone covered bottom that includes a baking area in which the food product may be baked. A top is connected to the bottom and constructed to form a domed chamber over the baking area. A constant heat source is connected to the bottom to provide a constant heat within the chamber. A first passageway extends through the top and has a size sufficient to pass an unbaked food product into the chamber. A second passageway extends through the top and has a size sufficient to remove a baked food product from the chamber.

Abstract: A fire extinguishing material that comprises a particulate material to be projected onto a fire having a particle size of no more that 212 microns, a moisture content of no more than 0.50 parts by weight, a hygroscopicity of no more than 3.00 parts by weight, and a bulk density of about 125 milliliters per 100 grams. The particulate material consists essentially of from about 40 to about 80 parts by weight monoammonium phosphate, from about 32 to 0 parts by weight ammonium sulfate, from about 10 to about 18 parts by weight of one or more carbonates selected from the group consisting essentially of magnesium carbonate, potassium carbonate and calcium carbonate, from about 0 to 15 parts by weight of barium sulfate, about 2.0 parts by weight hydrated aluminum-magnesium silicate, about 0.04 parts by weight of diarylide yellow, and about 0.8 parts by weight of methylhydrogen siloxane.

Abstract: An anti-theft system for preventing the theft of a vehicle having brakes used for stopping the vehicle. A brake override is connected to the vehicle for selectively moving the brakes of the vehicle between an engaged and locked position to prevent the vehicle from being moved and a disengaged position to allow the vehicle to be moved. A remote controlled activating apparatus is mounted on the vehicle for activating the brake override means to move the brakes between the engaged and locked position and the disengaged position. A remote controlling device is provided exteriorly of the vehicle for activating the remote controlled activating apparatus to prevent movement of the vehicle when an authorized user so desires and to allow movement of the vehicle when the authorized user so desires.

A first portion of an elongated flexible material is then secured to a patient. A second portion of the elongated flexible material is folded over a second portion of the surgical instrument. The second portion of the elongated flexible material is secured to the first portion of the elongated flexible material.

Abstract: A device for measuring the position of a football on a football playing field has a base member adapted to be placed in juxtaposition on a yard line on the football playing field. A first elongated member to determine the distance the football is positioned relative to the base. A second elongated member visually indicates the location of the base. First pivotal mounting is used to pivotally connect the first elongated member to the base to permit the first elongated member to be selectively rotated into engagement with the second elongated member and into a measuring position. Second pivotal mounting apparatus may be used to pivotally connect the second elongated member to the base so that the base remains substantially in juxtaposition with the line on the field when the first and second members are moved relative to the base when marking the position of the football on the field.

A pad is constructed to prevent viewing the opening and passageway in the body of the grill while permitting the sound emitted by the speaker to pass substantially unimpaired therethrough. The pad is disposed between the grill and the perforated screen when the grill and the preforated screen are fastened to one another.

Abstract: Apparatus for and method of reconstructing a single document from data provided by scanning apparatus incapable of reading the entire document. A calibration sheet adapted to be disposed on the document to be scanned is used in the reconstructing apparatus. Scanning apparatus for converting a scanned portion of the document and a scanned portion of the calibration sheet into electronic outputs is used in the reconstructing apparatus. A computer processing unit is connected to the scanning apparatus to receive the electronic outputs. The computer processing unit includes storing apparatus for storing a first set of information representing a first scanned portion of the document and calibration sheet, a second set of information representing a second scanned portion of the document and calibration sheet and a third set of information representing a reconstructed single document.

Abstract: A system is used to remove the solid waste and gases excreted by a fish after being caught and deposited in water supported by a container and has a body. A filtering apparatus that removes the solid waste and gases excreted by the fish is connected to the body. A pumping device is connected to the body for continuously circulating the water supported within the container through the filter apparatus. If desired, an aerating device may be connected to said body for mixing air with the circulating water to provide oxygen to the fish supported in the container.

Attaching apparatus is connected to the tubular body for attaching the tubular body to a support member. A first stopper is connected to the body for preventing moisture from gaining access through the first end into the chamber in the body. A second stopper is selectively connected to the body for preventing moisture from gaining access through the second end into the chamber in the body when connected to the body and for permitting access to the chamber in the body when inserting the documents into the body when the second stopper is disconnected from the body.

Abstract: Computer control apparatus uses sensing apparatus converts a mechanical movement into a direct current electrical signal. An electrical interface circuit is connected to the sensing apparatus for converting the direct current electrical signal into a pulse output used in controlling a computer. The preferred sensor is an inclinometer, which comprises an opaque body having a chamber. A light source is connected to the body to provide light in the chamber. Photocell apparatus is connected to the body to receive light emitted from the light source for providing an electrical resistance in relation to the amount of light received. Supported in the chamber is a liquid filter medium to absorb light emitted from the light source. A sufficient quantity of liquid filter medium is provided in the chamber to prevent light emitted from the light source from impinging upon the photocell apparatus in response to the angular placement of the body with respect to gravity.

Abstract: An internal combustion engine may be tested by connecting a flexible inlet conduit leading from a coolant supply source to a coolant inlet provided on the engine. A flexible outlet conduit is connected to lead from a drain to a coolant outlet provided on the engine. A pressure gauge is mounted in fluid communication with a heater hose port provided on the engine. Coolant continuously flows from the coolant supply source through the inlet conduit, engine and outlet conduit to the drain. A pressure regulating valve in the inlet conduit is adjusted to provide the correct coolant pressure into the engine. The exterior of the engine is inspected for coolant leaks. A stand may be used to support an internal combustion during the test. The stand embodies a generally T-shaped frame that is rollingly supported above a support surface and supports a muffler to deaden the noise of the engine after it has been started.

Abstract: A device for and method of editing a reproduction to be made by using a diazo process in which the device comprises a portable body adapted to be hand held. The body has a chamber and a port that provides access from the chamber outwardly of the body. An electric light source is disposed in the chamber of the body to provide light through the port with the electric light source having sufficient illumination to expose a light sensitive diazo compound. Electrical power provides power to the electric light source such that light from the electric light source in the body is directed through the port onto the light sensitive diazo compound of any undesired portion of the reproduction prior to developing the reproduction.
