  • Patent number: 3985398
Abstract: A pneumatic wheel speed sensor provides pulse frequency signal proportional to wheel speed, the signal is converted to DC signal and differentiated and compared to commanded deceleration, error which causes modulation of brake pressure. Excessive deceleration causes a digital amplifier to switch into the system an integrator resulting in rapid brake pressure signal decrease. A second order lead protects against undesirable landing gear oscillation in aircraft applications.

  • Patent number: 3986149
Abstract: A rectangular toroid of a substrate material has a ferrite arc plasma sprayed into a channel toroid leaving two faces exposed. An off center aperture receives a drive winding which surrounds one long side of the toroid, the other long side is covered by three co-planar and parallel metal strips, slightly spaced and having ferrite material between the strips and forming a co-planar surface with the metal strips.

  • Patent number: 3981388
Abstract: A device for detecting the trailing end of a sheet inserted in a typewriter including a rod adjustably mounted on the carriage, extending below the platen and a transparent table for carrying the sheet. A reflective plate is positioned above the table, and the platen has a reflective coating. The rod supports a miniature light source and photo cell so that light returned from the reflective surfaces will generate a current in the photocell causing activation of an alarm. An alternative embodiment utilizes an electrically conductive rod arrangement including contact on the typewriter frame to create a closed circuit, the sheet passes through the contact point breaking the circuit.

  • Patent number: 3981588
Abstract: Stellar events are timed through a lens system and reticle by a photomultiplier tube, times are compared and a difference factor computed, the difference factor is implemented to move the lens system, reticle and photomultiplier until times are equal, verifying the location of a line on the reticle to be on the meridian.

  • Patent number: 3975676
Abstract: A system and method for determining the electrical parameters of large samples of materials in situ. A set of linear electrodes in boreholes forms a square pattern; positive and negative electrical potentials on alternate electrodes create symmetry planes which define several "cells"; a given fraction of electrical current leaves an electrode and reaches a corresponding electrode, an impedance characteristic is determined for each cell. The presence of inhomogeneity and anisotropy is reflected by unequal currents in geometrically equivalent cells.

  • Patent number: 3933034
Abstract: A hydrostatic stress gage including a sphere of incompressible fluid having positioned inside a drum like structure containing a pair of interconnected flat spiral coils forming a self-resonant tuned circuit, a change in pressure on the sphere will cause a variation in distance between the coils whereby changing the resonant frequency, when measured by an appropriate device stress may be measured.
