  • Patent number: 6562510
Abstract: A battery power supply system consisting of battery card, battery card assembly where battery card slots in, and charger where battery card gets recharged is disclosed. The standardized battery card is designed in light, thin, safe, and user-friendly card configuration to make interchangeability between appliances easy and possible. The battery card assembly is designed either for single or multiple battery cards. In the case of using single battery card, the battery card assembly electrically connects to a power buffer in the electrical apparatus so the user can change their battery card without turning off the electrical apparatus within a certain time interval. In the case of multiple battery cards, the battery card assembly connects power to the electrical apparatus from only one of the battery cards. Until the first battery card is completely discharged, the battery card assembly automatically switches to another battery card without disturbing the electrical apparatus operation.

  • Patent number: 6527568
Abstract: A card connector comprising a U-shape frame of a pair of guide arms of synthetic resin, a metallic bridge connecting the guide arms to each other to form a U-shape, and a connector part fit to the U-shape frame beneath the metallic bridge. A lever and a slider plate of an eject mechanism are mounted on the bridge. One of the guide arms is provided with an ejector button to be slidable thereon. In order to prevent the PC card from inserting into the card connector with a state where the PC card is reversed in front and rear and/or upside down, one of the guide arms is formed with a thin polarity key and the other of the guide arms is formed with a thick polarity key. Both the guide arms are symmetrically constituted except the polarity keys and are replaceable to each other.

  • Patent number: 6504334
Abstract: In circuitry for driving a motor 9 by PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) control. a pulse sequence Spwm is generated on the basis of a triangular wave TR that is control led by a capacitor. The pulses of the pulse sequence Spwm are counted in synchronism with position signals U1, V1 and W1 output from position sensing means, which is responsive to the angular positions of the motor 9, so that a duty modulation signal Sduty-b is generated for reducing noise ascribable to the rotation of the motor 9. An exciting pulse generating circuit 8 switches a MOSFET (Metal Oxide Semiconductor Field Effect Transistor) circuit 11 with gate signals Q1P through Q3P and Q1N through Q3N.

  • Patent number: 6492862
Abstract: A charge pump type voltage conversion circuit comprises a voltage detector which detects whether a boosted output voltage is larger or smaller than a predetermined reference voltage. A clock generator generates a clock signal based on the result of detection by the voltage detector. A charge pump circuit produces the boosted output voltage in response to the clock signal. A transfer control circuit allows or inhibits transfer of the clock signal to the charge pump circuit depending on the result of detection by the voltage detector. When the condition of the transfer control circuit is changed from the inhibited condition to the allowed condition based on the clock signal outputted from the clock generator, an operation of the charge pump circuit always starts from a voltage boost sequence, thereby reducing a ripple components of the boosted output voltage.

  • Patent number: 6461173
Abstract: In a hot-plug connector comprising a plurality of contacts used for a plurality of the uses, each of the contacts being provided with a peg portion for being mounted on a main surface of an electrical circuit board, a contact portion for removable connection to a mating contact of a mating connector, and a squeezed portion for being pushed into and hold by an insulator, the peg portions are equal in length to one another in a depth direction. The squeezed portions are equal in length to one another in the depth direction. The contact portions are different in length in the depth direction from one another so as to correspond to the uses. Therefore, the peg and the squeezed portions are located at the same location in the depth direction. The contact portions are protruded to the different location from each other in the depth direction.

  • Patent number: 6448117
Abstract: A simplified tri-layer process for forming a thin film transistor matrix for a liquid crystal display is disclosed. By forming a pixel electrode layer before a gate metal layer, a remaining portion of the gate metal layer surrounding the pixel electrode can function as a black matrix after properly patterning and etching the gate metal layer. The in-situ black matrix exempts from an additional step of providing a black matrix and solves the problem in alignment.

  • Patent number: 6436740
Abstract: A simplified tri-layer process for forming a thin film transistor matrix for a liquid crystal display is disclosed. By using a backside exposure technique, the masking step for patterning an etch stopper layer can be omitted. After forming an active region including a gate electrode and a scan line on the front side of a substrate, and sequentially applying an etch stopper layer and a photoresist layer over the resulting structure, the backside exposure is performed by exposing from the back side of the substrate. A portion of photoresist is shielded by the active region from exposure so that an etch stopper structure having a shape similar to the shape of the active region is formed without any photo-masking and lithographic procedure. Therefore, the above self-aligned effect allows one masking step to be reduced so as to simplify the process.

  • Patent number: 6437835
Abstract: A system for transferring video data includes a difference detector for detecting the difference between a current field information and the preceding field information. The preceding information is obtained from an entered interlaced video signal. An interpolator generates current display frame information in response to an interpolation based upon the current filed information with regard to an area of the video signal in which there is a difference value between successive fields that exceeds a predetermined threshold value. The interframe difference between the current display frame information and preceding display frame information is detected by the difference detector. Only the interframe difference is transferred over a system bus to enable a frame display to be presented on non-interlacing display device.
