Patent number: 7587131Abstract: A method of operating an electronic video device such as a DVD player, wherein video clock signals and audio clock signals are derived from a system clock signal using two phase-lock loops, and these video and audio clock signals are used to process encoded video data and encoded audio data, but digital-to-analog conversion of the audio data stream is controlled by the system clock signal rather than the audio clock signals. By using the system clock signal to control the audio digital-to-analog converter (DAC), the DAC avoids the poor performance issues that can arise from the jitter introduced into the audio clock signals by the PLL. The system clock signal may be divided by an integer to generate the sampling clock for the audio DAC. In the illustrative embodiment, the system clock signal has a rate which is not an integer multiple of the sample rate of the audio data stream. For example, the system clock rate might be 27 MHz while the sample rate of the audio data stream is 44.1 kHz.Type: GrantFiled: May 28, 2004Date of Patent: September 8, 2009Assignee: Magnum Semiconductor, Inc.Inventors: John L. Patent number: 7341446Abstract: A method of enhancing the combustion process by stimulating one or more components of a fuel/air mixture using nuclear resonance to selectively reduce or increase the oxidation of selected components of the combustion reaction, e.g., nitrogen (N-14) or hydrogen (H-1). The method can utilize either nuclear magnetic resonance for H-1 or nuclear quadrupole resonance for N-14. Stimulation of the components can occur before, during, or after the combustion reaction in the combustion area. Stimulation with an electromagnetic pulse can be synchronized with the combustion reaction. A feedback system is used to sense one or more operating parameters of the combustion reaction, and adjust the nuclear resonance stimulation based on sensed operating parameters. For example, if the stimulation is an RF signal having a beginning frequency, this frequency can be adjusted based on sensory information regarding gas levels or temperature in an exhaust stream.Type: GrantFiled: April 2, 2004Date of Patent: March 11, 2008Inventor: Gary L.
