    Abstract: An integral ankle support for a shoe has a support element and a cushioning element. The support element has horizontally elongated, generally parallel, and panel-like edge upstanding wings having corresponding front and rear ends joined at their rear ends by an integral, curved, and edge upstanding bight panel portion. The support element is constructed of semi-rigid, but partially flexible, material that is lightweight and moldable. The support element has a bottom tab that is oriented substantially perpendicular to the wings and that extends inwardly under the insole of the shoe. The ankle cushioning element is located on the inner surfaces of the rear ends of the wings and the central portion of the lower margin of the bight panel portion. The ankle support is incorporated as part of the internal structure of the shoe so as to remain fixed in place and provide enhanced support to the wearer's foot.

    Abstract: A system and device for monitoring pressure in a blood line. In such device, a pressure transducer line branches off a blood line to enable the connection of a pressure transducer. To avoid any contamination of the pressure transducer, a first pressure transducer protector filter is used that divides the pressure transducer line into a blood line section between the blood line and the filter, and a pressure transducer section between the filter and the pressure transducer. A sensor is provided for detecting the presence of liquid in the pressure transducer section of the pressure transducer line so as to provide a system by which an unnoticed failure of the first pressure transducer protector filter in a pressure transducer line is avoided as well as a device that can easily be re-used.

The lens is at least 75 degrees wider in field angle at the wide-angle end, about 3 to 4 in f-stops at the wide-angle end and approximately 6 to 7 at the telephoto end, and about a 15:1 zoom range. Four groups of lens pieces exert positive, negative, positive, and positive refractivities from the wide-angle end to the telephoto end as a result of the 1st and 2nd lens groups being split more, the 2nd and 3rd lens groups coming closer to each other, and the 3rd and 4th lens groups also coming closer to each other. The 3rd lens group has the leading set of lens pieces closer to objects and the trailing set of lens pieces can be orthogonal to the optical axis to compensate for defocus in the imaging plane. The 2nd lens group is displaced closer to objects for focusing.

    Abstract: A cage type animal trap having an enclosure with an animal access opening into a vacant interior sized to receive an animal to be trapped. The access opening is closed by a door that is movable from a closed to an opened position by an actuating mechanism having a flexible actuating member with one end secured to the door and the other end releasably held by a latch mechanism. The latch mechanism is configured to move the door to the opened position by tensioning the actuating member and, in response to a trigger mechanism, to release the second end of the actuating member and allow the door to move from the opened position to the closed position thereby trapping the animal in the animal enclosure. A door lock in abutment with the outer surface of the door prevents the door from being opened by a trapped animal. A part of the actuating mechanism is in engagement with the door lock when the door is closed such that the door lock is automatically disengaged when the actuating member is tensioned.
