Abstract: A method for detection and/or quantification of cardiac troponin I (cTnI) in a sample derived from an individual's blood, the method being based on a sandwich immunoassay employing at least two capture antibodies and at least one tracer antibody, in which a first capture antibody is directed to the N-terminal part of cTnI, to the C-terminal part of cTnI or to the part of the cTnI midfragment, which is slightly affected by the interfering factor, and a second capture antibody is directed to another of these parts, and a tracer antibody is directed to the N-terminal part of cTnI, to the C-terminal part of cTnI or to TnC, which is complexed with cTnI.
Abstract: A multi-step method for producing contactless tickets or cards, the tickets or cards including a chip (24) which is connected to an antenna (10) on a paper carrier. The method includes: printing the antennae in series on the paper carrier strip using a silkscreen ink; fixing a chip to each ticket by connecting bond pads of the chip to the antennas' bond pads (14, 16); and covering the paper strip, including the silkscreen-printed antenna and the corresponding chip, with an adhesive paper strip. After each step, the paper carrier strip is wound up before the next step is begun. Each of the silkscreen-printed antennae is coated with a protective layer (12) to prevent silkscreen ink from being transferred to the back of the paper carrier strip during the successive winding-up following each step.
Abstract: A contactless reading system, wherein a chip card is fixed on a planar support of an object such as a book (11) for identification by means of the data contained in the chip card, and a mobile reader (16) provided with an antenna in order to read the data of the card. The antenna of the reader (16) consists of a small-sized convolution disposed in a series with a large-sized convolution, which are concentric and which have the same winding direction. A maximum value is obtained for the component (H) of the electromagnetic field produced by the antenna parallel to the antenna at a given distance from the antenna. Maximum reception by the chip card of electromagnetic signals emitted by the antenna is obtained when the antenna is disposed in a perpendicular position in relation to the support of the card and at the given distance from the card.

Abstract: A method in which all or some of the particles contained in the exhaust gases of a diesel engine are retained on particle filters and burnt due to the action of a combustion catalyst. At least a part of the particle filters are obstructed when the temperature ?g of the exhaust gases for filtration is equal to or less than a threshold temperature ?s, so as to limit or avoid cooling of the obstructed part of the particle filters and to maintain the same at a temperature ?o greater than or equal to ?s up until the time when ?g becomes greater than ?s again and thus permit accelerated regeneration of the obstructed part of the particle filters. Also disclosed is an exhaust gas filtration device which permits the carrying out of the filtration method with continuous and regular regeneration of the particle filters.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for biological and/or chemical decomposition of waste containing organic matter. The method includes waste pretreatment in which waste is fragmented and homogenised in a pretreatment apparatus (10a, 10b) operating on the principle of a multi-ring double action impact mill. The apparatus has either two rotors (62, 64) or a rotor and stator disposed inside a housing (26), which rotors and/or stator are equipped with blades having impact surfaces, and which form one or more rings (1,2,3, . . . ) coaxial with the rotor. The waste is fed into the housing through the hub of rings formed by the blades, and travels by the effect of a rotor or rotors, to the outer ring of the ring (7) formed by the outermost blades, and further to the discharge opening (25, 27?) at the outer ring.

Abstract: A substrate which can be used for the direct identification of pathogenic bacteria belonging to the genus Listeria by detecting an esterase activity other than Phosphatidyl Inositol-specific Phospholipase C (PI-PLC), an esterase which is specific to the species Listeria monocytogenes. The use of two substrates, one as described above and the other specific for all or some members of the genus Listeria, and a reaction medium containing such a substrate or such a combination of substrates are disclosed. An identification method which exploits such culture media is also disclosed. The invention is particularly applicable in the field of diagnosis.
