  • Patent number: 6522263
Abstract: A traffic control system includes a vertically and horizontally disposed pole. The vertically disposed pole has a lower end mounted to a ground surface while an upper end mounts the horizontally disposed pole at a right angle. The horizontally disposed pole extends out over a vehicular roadway and, at least a pair of signal assemblies are mounted to the horizontally disposed pole for controlling vehicular traffic which may pass by an emergency vehicle rescue station. The signal assemblies illuminate a light bulb signal sequence upon activation by a programmable central control panel and instruct vehicular traffic to stop. A receive and antenna receive a wireless signal sent from a remote location within the rescue station. A pair of verification lights mount on the traffic control system and directed towards the rescue station provide a means for indicating to emergency vehicle operators that the illumination sequence is operating properly and that all light bulbs in the signal assembly are illuminating.

  • Patent number: 6510331
Abstract: A switching device is interposed between a conventional oximeter and a plurality of conventional photosensors. The photosensors are located on different extremities of the body. The switching device may be operated in the manual mode or an automatic mode. In the manual mode each different photosensor may be individually selected to provide the input signal to the oximeter. In the automatic mode, the switching device scans the incoming signals from the different photosensors and forwards the best, strongest or least distorted signal to the oximeter. The device prevents the loss of oximetery information due to interrupted blood flow in a particular part of the body or the failure of a sensor.

Abstract: A frusto-conical member has a planar rim disposed at a bottom closed end and a circular open portion disposed at a top end. A lid having a plurality holes formed therethrough inserts over the frusto-conical open portion and is retained by friction. An elongated portion of a toothbrush is inserted through one of the holes formed in the lid for retaining the toothbrush in an upright position such that bristles of the toothbrush are exposed to the ambient air. A grommet having a center aperture is inserted into one of the holes in the lid. Disposed underneath the grommet is a small housing for retaining a source of dental floss. The housing includes a cover having a tip portion which inserts through the grommet aperture. The source of dental floss threads through the tip portion and out through the grommet aperture. • Patent number: 6451023
Abstract: A guide bushing for a coring reamer having a tapered member with its largest diameter at its first end so that the guide bushing frictionally engages an internal surface of the reamer with a line contact. The guide bushing has a passage sized to slidably receive a guide pin. In use, the bushing advances in the proximal direction within the coring reamer along a guide pin while the excavated bone enters the passageway through the reamer. A storage package specifically designed for the reamer assembly is employed to remove the excavated bone from within the reamer. The package has a closed distal end and an open proximal end closeable with a cap. With the coring reamer received in cantilevered fashion through a central opening of the cap of the tube, and with an adapter that couples the coring reamer to a handpiece installed, a wrench is placed over the adapter and turned while the user grips peripheral surfaces of the cap to prevent rotation of the coring reamer.
