Abstract: A process comprising copolymerizing an oxazoline with a bis-or poly-phenolic compound in the presence of a catalyst which is a cationic complex of an alkali or an alkaline earth metal at a temperature in the range of from about 100.degree. to 200.degree. C. is described.
Abstract: The addition of small amounts of selected polyamides or polyesters to plasticized, melt extrudable polyvinyl alcohol homopolymer provides a composition with lower permeability to oxygen and other fixed gases.
Abstract: An improved catalyst for the preparation of polyurethanes and in other tin catalyzed reactions is prepared by modifying an organo tin compound, such as dibutyl tin dimethoxide, with a bicyclic amide acetal.
Abstract: A process for the production of novel polymers by the interpolymerization of a bicyclic amide acetal, a dicarboxylic acid anhydride and a polyepoxide at a temperature in the range of from 80.degree. C. to about 200.degree. C. and at a pressure in the range of from about ambient to about 50 atmospheres is described.
Abstract: In the recovery and purification of methacrylic acid or its esters produced by the vapor phase catalytic oxydehydrogenation of isobutyric acid or its esters the problem of downstream plugging is avoided by the inclusion of a small amount of surfactant in the gaseous effluent at or near the point of its condensation.
Abstract: Polymerizable solutions of mixtures containing a bicyclic amide acetal, a polymer which does not react with the bicyclic amide acetal and a monomer or polymer capable of undergoing condensation polymerization with the bicyclic amide acetal, a process for polymerization of such solutions and the novel polymers resulting from the polymerization are described.
Abstract: A process for preparing novel polymers having interpenetrating networks comprising polymerizing simultaneously a mixture of a bicyclic amide acetal, a polyisocyanate and a vinyl monomer component is described.
