  • Patent number: 5492444
Abstract: Imbricated or overlapped copies of printed material are formed within a plurality of rows to form a single layer of a multi-layered and cubic-shaped stack. The stack allows for more efficient use of space for the storage of printed materials, and allows for easier and faster storing and retrieving of printed materials. The apparatus for forming the stack includes a plurality of in-feed conveyors which feed imbricated copy stream segments to a shuttle assembly upon a plurality of side-by-side rows. Once filled, the shuttle is positioned over a flat separator sheet and drops the plurality of rows onto the separator sheet, thereby forming a single layer. The layer is formed directly upon a stack which is formed upon a pallet. The separator sheet of the formed layer is supported by the copy streams which lie below on the preceding separator sheet.

  • Patent number: 5489216
Abstract: This invention prevents lowering of working efficiency and an abnormal deformation, a breakage and the like of conductive terminals upon coupling a printed circuit base plate to a card edge connector in a card edge connector assembly. When a card edge connector 10 is inserted into an mouth 4 in a base plate holder 1, sliding edge portions 27 ride on ramp faces 5a on ribs 5 to pivot a pair of inner housings 20. Then, contacting portions 22a of first terminals 22 engage with second terminals on opposite sides of a printed circuit base plate 2. The printed circuit base plate 2 enters smoothly between the contacting portions 22a without causing an elastic deformation in the portions 22a and gouging the plate 22 due to their contact.

  • Patent number: 5482905
Abstract: An aluminum nitride sintered body comprising aluminum nitride crystals belonging to a Wurtzite hexagonal crystal system wherein the 3 axes a, b and c of the unit lattice of the crystal are defined such that the ratio b/a of the lengths of the axes b and a is 1.000 near the center of the crystal grain and lies within the range 0.997-1.003 in the vicinity of the grain boundary phase. Aluminum nitride sintered body is produced by sintering a molded body of a raw material powder having aluminum and nitrogen as its principal components at a temperature of 1700.degree.-1900.degree. C. in a non-oxidizing atmosphere having a partial pressure of carbon monoxide or carbon of not more than 200 ppm and then cooling the sintered body to 1500.degree. C. or a lower temperature at a rate of 5.degree. C./min or less. The aluminum nitride sintered body has a greatly improved thermal conductivity and, therefore, is suitable for heat slingers, substrates or the like for semiconductor devices.

  • Patent number: 5482470
Abstract: This invention prevents terminals 4 and 5 from being abraded or ground at contacting portions due to vibrations. An end of a male terminal 5 is secured in a part of a stepped hole 16 in a rear wall portion 12 and the other end off the terminal 5 18 coupled to a female terminal 4. Even if the female terminal 4 is displaced due to vibrations in a coupled position relative to the male terminal 5, the male terminal 5 can elastically deflect in another part of the stepped hole 16 in accordance with a displacement of the female terminal 4. Consequently, an abnormal contacting pressure caused by vibration at contacting portions of the male and female terminals 5 and 4 can be absorbed to reduce wear or abrasion between them.
