Abstract: A silver halide photographic light-sensitive material is provided, comprising a support having on one side thereof a silver halide emulsion layer, wherein the photographic light-sensitive material has a magnetic recording layer on the other side of the support, and having, on at least one side the support, a layer containing metal oxide particles having a crystallite size, on the average, of 1 to 20 nm.
Abstract: A photosensitive composition including a water-soluble aromatic diazo compound having at least two diazo groups and lactic acid, hydroxyacetic acid or, a mixture thereof in an amount of at least one third by weight of the diazo compound. The photosensitive composition is in the form of a liquid or paste, is thus easy to handle, is suitable for use in the production of photosensitive printing plates, and has good storage stability.
Abstract: A magnetic recording medium comprises a non-magnetic support and provided thereon, in order, a non-magnetic layer containing a non-magnetic powder, and a magnetic layer containing a ferromagnetic metal powder, each layer containing a binder, the crystallite size of the magnetic powder determined according to X-ray measurement being 30 to 120 .ANG. and the dry thickness of the magnetic layer being 0.01 to less than 0.5 .mu.m.
Abstract: There is disclosed a plug cap device (11) for an internal combustion engine wherein a bore (15) receiving a corrugation portion and a cylindrical portion of an insulator of a spark plug has a first portion (15a) corresponding to the corrugation portion and a second portion (15b) corresponding to the cylindrical portion such that the inner diameter (.phi.P) of the first portion (15a) corresponding to the corrugation portion of the insulator is slightly smaller than the outer diameter of a major diameter portion of the corrugation portion and such that the inner diameter (.phi.Q) of the second portion (15b) corresponding to the cylindrical portion of the insulator gradually decreases from the inner diameter (.phi.P) of the first portion (15a) toward an insertion opening at which the spark plug is inserted to provide a tapered configuration, whereby the plug cap device (11) insures an improved electrical sealing property and provides high operating efficiency when fitted over and removed from the spark plug.
Abstract: A joint connector having a connector housing and containing electrical wires having terminals on their distal ends. Some terminals are electrically coupled to each other through a shorting plate. There are two groups of chambers accommodating terminals, one group over the other, with a joint chamber between. Apertures in at least some of each group of chambers are in communication with the joint chamber and the shorting plate is in the joint chamber facing the apertures. The chambers have open ends, into which terminals are introduced, and closed ends remote therefrom. Some of each group of chambers have open ends facing front and some of each group of chambers have open ends facing back. Certain of the terminals have tongue pieces which project through the apertures into the joint chamber when they are in the chambers.

Abstract: Disclosed is a light-sensitive silver halide photographic material comprising a support having a first face and a second face, a first photographic component layer being provided on the first face and a second photographic component layer being provided on the second face, each of the first and second component layer comprising a silver halide emulsion layer, wherein; when an exposure dose at a position on the first face is an exposure dose giving a density of a fog density +1.60 after exposing from the first face side and developing the material, a density at a position on the second face corresponding to the position on the first face is fog +0.20 or less, and an amount of a light which transmitted through the first component layer and the support and reaching an interface between the support and the second component layer is 12 to 75% of a light to which the first face side of the material is exposed.
Abstract: The present invention provides a magnetic recording medium comprising a support, lower magnetic layer comprising ferromagnetic powder and nonmagnetic powder dispersed in a binder and an upper magnetic layer which contains ferromagnetic powder dispersed in a binder. The lower layer has a coercive force of not less than 200 Oe, a saturation magnetic flux density in the range of 5-1000 gauss and non magnetic particles with a specific gravity of not less than 2.5. The ferromagnetic powder of the upper layer is a ferromagnetic metal powder containing Fe and Al, and the ratio of non magnetic powder to magnetic powder in the lower magnetic layer is from 50/50 to 99/1.
Abstract: A connector which can be easily attached to a vehicle body and causes no failure or breakage of wires. The connector has a connector housing, including a front socket portion and a rear socket portion. Upon attaching the connector to the vehicle body, it is easy to position the rear socket portion thereby making installation efficient and hence inexpensive. There is no need for assembling a subharness. Since a transfer portion is provided in the connector housing, there is no breakage or damage of wires during attachment.
Abstract: A copper oxide/zinc oxide/aluminium oxide catalyst which contains, per 100 parts of copper oxide, 40 to 130 parts zinc oxide, 2 to 50 parts aluminium oxide, and 1 to 4 parts soium oxide. It has a total BET surface area of 50 to 100 m.sup.2 /g, and 75% to 95% of the total surface area is made up by pores having radii of 9 to 1000 nm, and 5% to 25% of the total surface area is made up by pores having radii of less than 9 nm. The catalyst is useful for hydrogenation of various organic compounds.

Abstract: An image forming method for silver halide color photographic light-sensitive material is disclosed. The method is excellent in stability and rapidness of processing. And in the photographic color image formed by the method, staine formation due to storage is inhibited in unimaged area of the picture. The method is comprises steps of developing an imagewise exposed silver halide color photographic material with a color developer, bleaching with a bleaching solution, immediately after the developing step, and treating, after the bleaching step, with a solution having fixing capability. The bleaching solution contains a ferric complex salt of a compound represented by the following formula A, and the solution having fixing capability contains at least one of thiocyanate and an iodide in a total amount of not less than 0.5 mol per liter of the solution, ##STR1## wherein A, through A.sub.4 are each a --CH.sub.2 OH group, a --COOM group or a --PO.sub.3 M.sup.1 M.sub.
Abstract: The sulfonation of arylphosphines, i.e. mono-, di-, oligo- and polyphosphines, which contain at least one aromatic radical capable of being sulfonated, is carried out in the presence of a Lewis acid at 0.degree. to 80.degree. C. The process avoids side-reactions, in particular the formation of phosphine oxides. In treating the sulfonation mixture, the Lewis acid can be removed together with the sulfuric acid.

Abstract: For the production of extrudates such as profiles or granules, pulverulent or finely divided ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene is processed on single screw extruders. By the use of a screw with a specific geometry, thermal degradation of the polymer into low molecular weight products is avoided. Furthermore, profiles are obtained which have perfect surfaces, are free of voids and pores, and have no internal stresses.

Abstract: This invention permits reduction in space between conductors in a shielded flat cable, as well as improvement in shielding ability and cost savings of the shielded flat cable. The shielded flat cable comprises a cable body 8 including a base film 3, circuit conductors 1, and a ground conductor 2. The circuit conductors 1 are disposed in the upper surface of the base film 3 in a parallel relationship with one another. A lower cover layer film 4B is attached to the upper surface of the base film 3. The ground conductor 2 is disposed on the lower cover layer film 4B in a parallel relationship with the circuit conductors 1. An upper cover layer film 4A is placed over the ground conductor 2 and the lower cover layer film 4B. An area 7 having no upper cover layer film 4A is provided in the cable body. The area 7 having a predetermined width extends transversely of the cable body 8. A shield tape 5 is wrapped around the cable body so as to shield the cable body.
