  • Patent number: 4737563
Abstract: A novel method is proposed for the synthesis of an organopolysiloxane having two hydrogen atoms directly bonded to the same silicon atom at the molecular chain end. The method comprises mixing a dihydro isopropenyloxy silane with an organosilicon compound having at least one silanolic hydroxy group so that a condensation reaction takes place between the isopropenyloxy group of the former reactant and the silanol group of the latter reactant forming acetone as a by-product. The method is advantageous in respect of the absence of any acidic or basic by-product contained in the product as an impurity in the conventional methods.

  • Patent number: 4726964
Abstract: The invention provides a method for imparting releasability to the surface of a plastic film or paper by coating the surface with an organopolysiloxane composition followed by curing, in which the curing is complete by heating at a relatively low temperature and the cured surface film of the composition is very stable and free from the problem of transfer to another body in contact therewith. The composition comprises a vinyl-containing organopolysiloxane, an organohydrogenpolysiloxane and a platinum compound to catalyze the addition reaction between the silicon-bonded vinyl groups and silicon-bonded hydrogen atoms. Different from conventional organohydrogenpolysiloxane having a linear molecular structure, the organohydrogenpolysiloxane used in the invention is represented by the general unit formula (RSiO.sub.1.5).sub.m (RHSiO.sub.0.5).sub.n, in which R is a monovalent hydrocarbon group free form unsaturation and m and n are each a positive integer with the proviso that the ratio of n/m is from 0.1 to 3.

  • Patent number: 4725696
Abstract: In the inventive touch-operated see-through coordinate input unit, the contacting wires embedded in the upper and lower substrate sheets in a relative perpendicular disposition are divided into groups each of at least two of the adjacent wires and the wires belonging to the same group are bonded to the same electrode. When the upper sheet is depressed with a finger tip or stylus point at a crossing point of the wires on the upper and lower sheets, electrical contact can be obtained at two points or more between wires so that, different from conventional coordinate input units in which electrical contact is obtained at only a single point by a pushing stroke, the reliability of the input operation can be greatly improved also with decreased fatigue of the operator in continuous working of long time.

  • Patent number: 4707503
Abstract: The radiation-curable organopolysiloxane composition of the invention is quite free from the problem of the migration of silicone toward the surface of a body in contact with the surface of the cured film of the composition even by curing with an extremely small dose of radiation, e.g. ultraviolet light and electron beams, for curing. The mechanism for curing is in principle the radiation-induced addition reaction between the aliphatically unsaturated bonds in a first organopolysiloxane and the mercapto groups in a second organopolysiloxane but the aliphatically unsaturated bond in the first organopolysiloxane is bonded preferably remotely from the silicon atom with an electron-attractive atom or group intervening therebetween such as the divalent groups of the formula --O--CH.sub.2).sub.2 S-- and --CH.sub.2 --O--CH.sub.2 --S--.
